Hey stop me if you heard this before but I’ve been gone for a bit. Crazy right? Anyways this is a little head’s up on what has been going on, a quick version (not a Quick Hits version, that’s a Friday thing).

-A family member has been in and out of the hospital. I hate, HATE, H-A-T-E hospitals! The food in the cafeteria is crap, people are sick, the nurses act like they have better things to do, and the Doctors are nowhere to be found, but the other staff members, like the cleaning crew, and the folks who bring food into the rooms, they are the best! The nicest people in that place I tell ya, the nicest.

-I went on vacation. For a couple of days I went to Yosemite and let me tell you, pictures don’t do the place any justice. Remember that scene in the original Jurassic Park when Grant and Sattler first see a dinosaur? That was legit me seeing El Capitan and Half Dome on the side of the road. It is freaking amazing!

01

I went all Ansel Adams here.

More on this trip on Friday.

Games…

I really didn’t play much of anything for the time I was out and about. I brought my Switch thinking I was going to play but it sat in the suitcase for the entire trip. Good thing I didn’t bring the 3DS as well. The night before at my Aunt’s house I did play some NBA 2K but from that point on until yesterday when I plopped down on the couch I did not touch it…wait that’s wrong, I did play it for five minutes in the Tulare Outlets parking lot while waiting for the peeps. I wanted to see what was going on with my guild was doing.

I can say I didn’t miss a thing by not playing for a bit.

Since I think Quick Hits will be long I might as well do an update on other non gaming items:

-I finished my book Killing the Rising Sun by Bill O’Reilly. Interesting to read up on the events leading up to the dropping of the two atomic bombs on Japan. Everything leading up was just sad on both sides. I loaded up Killing Patton on my phone but never listened to it. Crazy right?

-I watched the debates via Twitter and on the TV when I could get to one. Yeah it was a waste of time because we all saw who the media wants because they got the most TV time. And with that, that was the end of my political take for this blog. Chris 2020!

Pickups (Games Only)

It was a busy couple of weeks adding games to the library but they were cheap and I think for most I used Nintendo coins

02

All these games came out to I think $1.10 in Nintendo coins. Not bad, and I always wanted to try out that Frederic series

03

These games cost some actual cash, I think I paid $10 total.

04

The final games here I spent $8 and One Strike was purchased with Nintendo Gold Coins, a whopping .50 cents. I now have a little under 1.5 GB left on my 128GB card. Since storage is getting cheaper I might upgrade to 256.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Thanks for the quick chat and I’ll be around this week, I promise but for right now an ice coffee and donuts sound really good. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

It's like when I went to see the Grand Canyon.  Photos of it just don't do it justice.

Do you have Nintendo's paid online service?  I didn't until last week.  I got Mario Maker 2, but I got a version of it that came with the online service for half off, so I only had to pay ten bucks for it.  So once I got that, I downloaded Tetris 99.  Have you played that one yet?  It only works if you have the online service, but otherwise, it's free.

If you want to actually pay money for a good Switch downloadable game, try BoxBoy + BoxGirl.  It's a whole lotta game for only ten bucks.  There si a demo you can download to try before you buy, too.

Thinking about getting a Switch is a good motivator for me to get better work soon.

I hope your family member is better.

I went to Yosemite a couple times when I lived in California. Very beautiful place.
