Couch Gaming

As I sit here looking back on what I’ve played during the past week I’ve noticed that I still haven’t really sat down with a “real” game, I mean I’ve wandered back into the F2P area of gaming, and to be quite honest it fits me right now. I really don’t want to jump into a full game where I have to camp out in front of my TV, remember things, and then if I don’t play it for a week I’m lost and lose interest. Right now I’m in a place where I want to jump in for a couple of minutes, play something and then move on. Here are a couple of examples of my couch gaming during commercials:

Sea of Squares - iOS: Its a puzzle game where the 3D puzzle is made up of color squares. If two or more of the same color are touching you can tap them, they disappear and the blocks move to fill in the void. You keep doing this until the puzzle disappears.

Age of Solitaire - iOS: Solitaire game where you earn coins to unlock setions of a scene above the playing surface. Once everything is unlocked, you move onto a next stage of more of the same.

Nothing really of substance. No deep storyline, no memorable characters, but I do get the sense of satisfaction when completing a task. I like that part and for right now, that’s enough for me.

In my other lineup of games I’ve been playing on the regular:

Gems Of War - Switch: I switched my defender squad from one I saw on YouTube to the one I currently use and I saw a drastic drop in challenges. Usually it was 1 win for every 15+ losses but now it’s 1-2 wins for every 3-5 losses. I guess my little squad holds up.

My one gripe with the game is that my casual group 4-5 guys are carrying the rest of the group (15 folks) when it comes to donating gold to unlock items. I don’t care how much people donate but if you see 2-3 of the 5 guys dropping 100k+ maybe kick in 5k, try and support the cause.

Mariokart Tour - iOS: So this is where I am at

01

As of Sunday I sunk 8 hours into this game, I completed every challenge with the exception of the two that involve Bowser, and the one with the walking bombs, and I did a full complete of every track race except for the last two, unlocked all the freebies, and currently sitting on Level 13

02

In the World race portion I’m first among my friends but 12th in my group. I think the top folks are the hackers from Asia with crazy scores.

Game Randoms:

-Who is playing this game?

03

Seriously who wants to play a game like this? C’mon Nintendo.

-Twitter told me that the PS5 is being released this holiday season. I’m not excited nor I am disappointed. In the words of Michael Scott: “why is no one ever is the right amount of whelmed?” I guess I could be, I mean there was no huge push or giant announcement (unless I completely missed it because of those epic Sea Of Squares puzzles)

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I’ve been on a sorting/organizing kick since fixing my audio library and I want to do more of that. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

Softcore pornography on a Nintendo system. Who'd a thunk it? Yes, I'm aware that plenty of Japanese only releases were more risque than what we got here. Heck, the mermaid originally lost her bikini top, not her necklace.

Yeah I found it a little odd for Nintendo to have this but if they're willing to open up the console a bit to the indie folks you'll see stuff like this along with other games that will appeal to a wider audience.

No, PS5 is late 2020. Once again Twitter is way off.  Sealed

Ha, this makes more sense. We shall see if my views change in a year.

Age of Solitaire is strangly appealing to me right now. I could use a break from Borderlands 3.

It's a fun casual game that I believe is free now and it doesn't have any freemium caps.
