I’m trying to think back throughout the past week to see if anything sticks out and at first nothing popped into my head but as I was typing this I remembered a couple of things. Crazy how that works. Good morning Pixlpeeps! It is a somewhat chilly Friday morning here in Southern California and yesterday I made a comment about how in November the minute it hit 75° I was wearing a hoodie and jeans but yesterday it was 66° and I went out in a windbreaker and some basketball shorts. Crazy how things work out. Also windbreaker and basketball shorts is one pair of slides away from being super lazy, but I wore shoes so I was good. Anyways let’s get started with the things I remembered before I forget them.

Adventures At The Library

Last weekend I went to my local library and apparently they are shooting for a young demographic. The little pyramid displays had some interesting books for teens like Star Wars and other Sci Fi stuff but the crazy thing was the table next to the CDs were a bunch of graphic novels. Now I don’t go to the library often but that looked new and I thought about checking one out (I didn’t, maybe at a later time). My main reason to visit was to check out their little store, but more on that later.

Chris Watches…

I’m not watching a lot of TV right now. No idea why, but other than the Jeopardy! Greatest Of All Time there isn’t anything that I needed to watch when it aired. I’ll probably get around to the CW’s Crossover Event which is usually pretty darn good. I also added the Aaron Hernandez series on Netflix to my must watch.

I watched John Wick 3 because apparently it’s on HBO. I liked it and I think John Wick would be Batman if he didn’t have the suit, the money, and the no kill policy.

Randoms

-I have a trip coming up and I wanted to add music to my music player to listen to on the plane. Most likely I’ll listen to a podcast, play a game and then fall asleep, but I still like to believe that I will listen to music. Anyways I have a 200GB card and I think that can hold around 19k songs. So far I just cracked 10k of favorite songs but I kinda want to fill it up, so I’ve been scouring my library trying to add music. Again all of this just so I can listen to a podcast on my phone and fall asleep.

-I have officially removed all pickup pics and other random saves from my iCloud and backed them up on an external drive. Actually I saved all my iCloud 2019 pics but I erased the pickups and other stuff from iCloud. I need space on my phone and 5 or 6 shots of the same CD from July was just taking up space. After I finish here I might continue on 2018 or just add more songs to the music player.

-I’m sorting through my Lego, and last weekend I sorted the container that holds all the minifigure accessories like swords, shields, guns…lots of guns, and other stuff. My goal this weekend is to continue sorting out miscellaneous bins and place the pieces in the right containers.

Pickups

Games

So there was a Nintendo Sale and it was time to bring back a game to my library

01

Mariokart was on sale for $41 and I think that’s around the same price I bought the physical copy (I gave it to my cousin who plays it everyday). I need practice on this game.

Music

From the library they cleared out some of their stock and I got these CDs for a quarter each

02

Walt Disney - Alice In Wonderland Soundtrack

Counting Crows - August And Everything After

Orchestre Symphonique De Montreal - Falla: El Amor Brujo

Domingo/Maazel - Othello Soundtrack (2CDs and a book)

So leading up to the National Title Game between LSU and Clemson I saw the video on Bourbon Street with a band playing Neck (Google LSU Neck), I thought it was hilarious that their fans sing this so I bought a track on iTunes

03

Oh and then the crowd chanted it at the game.

Toys

I went on a trip to Walgreens looking for clearance Lego (they didn’t have any) but while looking at their regular Lego aisle I did spot this

04

It was apparently a Walgreens exclusive and it was $20. The lady couldn’t find a price on it, asked me what the price was and then gave me a $5 discount.

At Walmart while getting some groceries I always go through the toys and I found some sets someone hid (Sorry guy/gal I saw them) and proceeded to toss them into my cart

05

Overwatch Dorado Showdown that was clearanced to $9…Hey it’s a game I bought in Lego form!

06

Harry Potter Advent Calendar that was clearanced to $5

And my favorite out of the bunch that was full price at $15

07

The Mandalorian Jones Battle Pack (I explain why I call the Mandalorian, Mandalorian Jones in the previous blog). I have made it a goal that if I see this in stores I need to buy one to build up a Mandalorian Army. Hopefully there’s going to be a sale like when I stocked up on Storm Troopers.

08

These are hard to find on shelves right now, and I should have bought the AT-ST that Walmart had before Christmas that had the actual Mandalorian Jones minifigure.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I need to edit these photos, and then back to adding more music to my music player…we all know I’ll end up listening to podcasts. Have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Gotta have shoes!

i really like Mario Kart 8 for Switch. Beautiful to look at, perfect gameplay. But boy, online is cutthroat.

My library has a great comic collection but some don't have any. It all depends on the local community and what they want. Like in the county i live in, there is only one library with a decent comic collection and it's the one right next to a middle school. There's another one that has a great music collection. There's no reason for it. I guess the director is into music.

I used to go to a lot of libraries for different things, one for music, another for comics andother for lecture series. It's a lot of fun to explore them all.
