I have to renew my ID this year as well because in Texas we have to have these star things on IDs and driver's licenses to make them official, so I have to get my original birth certificate and possibly another form of ID and take half a day or more off of work to sit at the DMV. I'd complain about all the hoops I have to go through for this, but if I did I'd sound politically incorrect so I think I'll just keep my mouth shut about that.

I’m pretty sure this is going to be a two parter BaD today because I am going to the DMV to get a Real ID. I hate the DMV…ok hate is a strong word, I dislike certain aspects of going to the DMV. There are a lot of people, it’s a little chaotic, and there’s some weird odor that just sits there. Depending on the season it fluctuate but it usually mixes with someone’s heavy handed use of perfume/cologne.
I’m going to get a Real ID because apparently my Driver’s License isn’t considered a full on ID anymore (thanks California) so I had to fill out a ton of forms online (a couple of pages), and then bring 8 different physical pieces of paper saying who I am, maybe a vile of blood, and some DNA, depending on the wait. At least I have an appointment so there’s that and I’m bringing my iPad to jot down some notes while sitting there and wondering if I should visit the neighboring Dollar Store afterwards…Spoiler: I totally am.
