I have about 15 minutes until I have to officially get up but I’ve been up since 6:30am just listening to the radio. Currently I am typing on the iPad and man if someone ever creates a keyboard with a trackpad I’ll be a fan for life. I’m thinking about trying to get back to reading the newspaper and the local paper has a special where I can get 3 months of their digital version for a $1. Not bad but I am in a small town so stories would most likely be palm tree on fire (this was an actual news story on the local news right after the main story of the day).

Good morning Pixlpeeps! Today’s No Theme Theme is Quick Hits but I think this will most likely be just a pickup blog because there hasn’t been anything interesting that I have watched but we’ll do a quick run through

Chris Will Watch...

Fast and Furious - Netflix: apparently there is an animated show that is somehow connected to the F&F universe. I didn’t find out about this until I had a friend take a picture of the Happy Meal Toys and they were F&F cars with an ad for their show.

Chris Will Read...

I’m thinking about finding a good art history book and just doing a refresher on the stuff I’ve learned many moons ago.

Pickups

Yeah I bought some stuff.

Games

I bought a cup for Skylanders SuperChargers for a buck

02

I guess it’s time to dig out the bin of Skylanders stuff and maybe give this game another spin or at least finish the dang game.

Remember this thing?

03

Yeah I’m pretty sure this won’t work with my laptop but I bought it anyways purely for the collection. I think I may have the one for the Dreamcast already so this will be a nice conversation piece. I got it from the library of all places for a quarter.

Music

So much music purchased this past week, let’s start in order:

From Goodwill:

04

The Snoop Dogg 5 Album Pack sealed, $4. I didn’t really follow Snoop after he left Death Row but I did buy one of these albums awhile ago just to be disappointed that it was a clean version. I’m glad to get this pack to build on my Snoop library and for the most part (I didn’t like the first No Limit album) it was a good listen.

*Typing on the laptop now*

Ok so where was I? Oh yeah

From The Library for a quarter each:

05

Various Artists - Free Willy 1 & 2 Soundtracks

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - This Beautiful Life

Snow Patrol - Eyes Open

All-4-One - And The Music Speaks

Original Broadway Cast - Beauty And The Beast

Candy Dulfer - Saxuality

Kenny G - Greatest Hits

I bought the Free Willy’s (laughs like a little kid) because of the Michael Jackson singles on both. I already own those songs as CD Singles but it’s nice to have the full album they came from. I finally find the Candy Dulfer album. I owned the cassette single of Lily Was Here, I have it on 12”, on her Greatest Hits, but finally I have the album.

From a Church Run Thrift Store, .50 Cents Each

06

Celine Dion - A New Day…Live In Las Vegas

Gerry Mulligan/Stan Getz - Getz Meets Mulligan

Basilica Mixed Ensemble - Sing Out My Soul (Sealed, From Mission San Juan Capistrano)

Andrea Bocelli - Viaggio italiano

Sarah Brightman - Harem

Elvis Presley - Ultimate Gospel

Tina Turner - Private Dancer

Various Artists - ABC’s Monday Night Football

I guess at this point I’m trying to collect a Celine and Sarah Brightman discographies. For Celine I’ll probably stick to the English albums even though I own one in French. Getz meets Mulligan is Good, like real Goooood. At some point I would like to visit all the Missions in California (these places were terrible to the natives) and this one is famous because of the Swallows that always return. Elvis I saw at Walmart, wanted to give it a listen but wasn’t willing to spend $10. Tina and Monday Night Football for one or two songs each.

From the other church run thrift

07

The Andrea Bocelli albums are sealed and were .25 cents each, the Neil Diamond 3 Disc Boxset with fancy book case was $5. This is because of the cashier who I do not like because she makes up prices on the spot, and is nice to certain people (I’m not one of them). Whatever $5.50 wasn’t bad.

Toys

From the Dollar Store I bought 7 Oyo Blind bags (6 NHL, 1 NFL) and got

08

One of my Goalies got two right leg pads which sucks but I got a second goalie of another figure so I took their pads and made my goalie with two right leg pads complete

09

Unlike the Lego Dimensions I don’t think I will drive to the other 99 Cent Only store in the sketchy neighborhood to buy their Oyo blind bags. I like them, but I don’t like them that much.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good weekend! The fair is in town and it opens today so I might go there for lunch because who doesn’t love random food on a stick?

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Right? It's crazy how these things seem to just show up, and then quickly fade away.

I didn't know there was a Fast and Furious cartoon until I saw the McDonald's toys, too.

I watched the first season and it's basically a F&F movie cut up into 20 minute segments. It was a lot of fun and I do wish their toys were in stores and not just at McDonalds.

I want that FF cartoon as a game. Cars was pretty good, FF would be better.

That cartoon would be a really fun game. I liked the original Cars game and if some developer would make a race game/action game it should be connected to the F&F license.

There was a F&F connection in a DLC for Forza Horizon 3. I thought it was a new race or something but I think it ended up just being a car pack.
