Good morning Pixlpeeps! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe July 4th! We had no fireworks show in my little town but I did watch a bunch of people shoot off some crazy fireworks all around. The family across the park from me had their legal fireworks that just spin on the ground and a bunch of sparklers. I celebrated in my usual style because I am a product of one of those families who came here years ago looking for a better life and I am forever grateful.

Let’s play a little catch-up: I had a family emergency and everything is better now, but it’s not ideal but it could have been a lot worse. I am grateful. I figure I should update you good people on what’s going on but I won’t continue my CoronaBAD because there is a lot on my plate right now.

Games:

NFS Heat - Steam: I finished the main storyline in I think 25 hours or so. I’m doing all the other things around whatever this town is called (it’s bascially heavly influenced by Miami because the home of the Heat is in the game). Game is fun, drifting is different which I don’t get because in all the previous EA games it was fine. This is a lot better than Payback, and it borrows from Payback and the other NFS game that was always online where you could bank your rep points. Good game.

Command & Conquer - Steam: I took a break from running wild on Europe (I’m playing as the Soviets because the bad guy is much more fun). I once made an army of nothing but dogs and tanks and took over like a hot knife through butter. Am I playing right? Absolutely not, but it is hilariously fun and that’s all that matters.

Madden - Origin: The last season I took Dallas to their 3rd Super Bowl in 4 years but lost when the Colts defense stopped Deshaun Watson at the 1 yard line as time expired. This is the same Colts team I traded Christian McCaffrey and Gronk to for their Superstar LG. Yeah I built up their offense only to have it beat me the next season.

Currently I am on what I like to call the “Dallas Cowboys Revenge Tour” and they are 12-1 (lost a heartbreaking game to winless NY Giants) but are putting up 35+ points a game. Top Offense and Top Defense is running wild. I also kicked up the game time to 4 (or maybe 5) minute quarters.

Other Games: I reinstalled a bunch of games on Steam so I’ve gone back to playing Burnout Paradise (not the fancy re-release), Borderlands 2, a couple of toy car racer games, Injustice 2, Shift 2, and Saints Row The Third. I originally started playing Saints Row IV but I found having no super powers to be more fun this time around. Sometimes I start up GTA V because Batmobile + God Mode = me running around like a madman.

Chris’ Thoughts On PS5: I wish the presentation would have had more gameplay than cut scenes, I don’t want to get too hyped because the gameplay usually looks like a pretty version of the previous generation. To be honest I’m not sure if I want to get a console next cycle. Don’t get me wrong there are a lot of positives but I really don’t use my PS4, I spend a lot of time in front of a computer, and I like having all my games in one spot. When I upgrade laptops I will also be able to play any newer games that I want to play as well as all the current stuff I have. Who knows I may get the itch to buy the PS5 (with the disc drive) during a crazy Black Friday sale, but for right now, it’s just not for me.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good one. I am off to eat some fresh homemade waffles I found in a box in the freezer. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

NFS Heat sounds fun. And I am definitely buying a PS5 at some point, but I'm excited for even less focus on exclusives next generation. We're almost to where games are like movies and you just play them on whatever home system you happened to buy. Almost. Ok, we're not even close but still closer than most previous game system cycles.

It's a good game, and there is a lot to do. It's crazy how good games look, heck last week I tried Sonic Generations (I think that was the game) and I was amazed on how good the scenery looked.

Well, GameFly is sending me NFS Heat, so I'm excited.

I might upgrade my Xbox if they offer a payment plan like I've heard they might this time.

PS5 I would want, but I barely played my PS4. . . I still want.

Heck when everyone is out buying the PS5/New XBox, I might just go get an XBox 1. Games will be cheaper, and I don't need to play online.

It's always cheaper to go last gen when the new gen is coming out.

NY Giants can be dangerous. Doesn't matter how sucky they are. Tongue Out

Its the bottom of the NFC East that gets ya. I played yesterday and the 3-6 Redskins almost took me out. Philly will always be a close game but the scary games are usually the Giants and Redskins. They're bad in the game but apparently they go full All Madden once they play Dallas.

I am avoiding the hype around the PS5 and the new Ratchet & Clank game because I know I won't be able to afford one until there is at least one price drop. New consoles have a terrible tendency to cost more than a month's rent for me. I will eventually get one because of Ratchet & Clank. I can't help myself, even though the PS4 reboot was pretty meh.

I kinda liked the PS4 R&C. Once I finished it I gave it to my cousin. I get ya when it comes to the price of these new consoles. That's a lot of money to put down on a new toy before even buying the game.
