Apparently It's September

Ok so I just finished the stage 5 (?) of the Tour de France, I didn’t take out a breakfast sandwich because last night’s Panda Express isn’t sitting well. Apparently when you ask for Orange Chicken they give you spicy chicken that isn’t sweet. I really need to find a mom & pop Chinese spot that offers Sweet N’ Sour Pork. Going back to actual gaming stuff I tried to write a Quick Hits but ended up getting sidetracked with random trips to different stores, but here we are on a Monday and apparently it’s September. Who knew? Let’s get started.

Madden 20 - Origin: In the drama of Titans Football the start of last season was met with the owner (me) trading away Franchise Running Back Derrick Henry to the Bears for a couple of draft picks and a LG. The guard solidified the that side of the OLine. Then when my starting QB Tua wanted way too much money so I shipped him off to the 49ers for some defensive help. Mind you the team was like 5-1 at the time so on paper it looked like a sort of fire sale. I re-signed the future Franchise QB to a cheaper deal (both have similar ratings except the kid can’t run, and he has an absolute cannon for an arm). The Titans went on to finish the season with two more losses and then a playoff push that faced division rivals Titans/Texans against each other. The last time they met the Texans beat them in Tennessee, but this time it was a new QB, a new No Huddle Spread offense, and the fireworks were flying as the Titans cruised to an easy win and a trip to the Super Bowl against the Seahawks.

The Seahawks grounded the high flying Titan offense, but thanks to a short handed running game (Penny was out for the year) the kid drafted out of West Virginia provided big runs when it counted and in overtime he caught a huge 3rd and forever to get the ball into the red zone so the Titans could kick the field goal and win the Super Bowl as time expired. This current season the Titans suffered an opening night loss to the Colts at home, and a terrible game in Houston when the Kicker missed a chip shot field goal as time expired only to watch the Texans march down the field in OT and score the winning touchdown.

UFC 3 - PS4: In the saga of Richard Johnson aka BigDick, he is now a champion in two divisions after breaking the leg of a fighter in the higher weight class. After this he signed a Legends Contract and I believe he is in fight 2 or 3 of that contract. I think at this point he just needs to fill two more slots on a list to be considered Greatest Of All Time.

World Series of Poker - PSP Emulator: Last week while mixing it up and having breakfast outside of the house I sat down and played while enjoying some Starbucks

01

I believe since then I made it to Day 4 of the tournament but haven’t played in a couple of days. Video Game Chris is still the chip leader and it kind of gets easier here because you can muscle people out of the pot. One character tried to do that to me, and I let him for a couple of hands before I started going All-In on pots when it was just the two of us. Everyone else I try to play as realistic as I think I can (I’m not super into poker so I have no idea what I’m doing at times) but with this guy he was just annoying and it was fun taking him down.

Pickups

Games: I haven’t bought anything but I did add the freebies from Epic, Twitch, and Steam to my libraries. Eventually I may try them.

From the Dollar Tree I saw these on the pegs while looking for Hot Wheels

02

Some new weapons for the game. Full confession: if Steam offers up Starlink again but with everything I may just buy it because its a lot easier than hunting down these guns and ships.

Music: From Goodwill

03

There was no box but both CDs were minty and that is the only thing that matters to me. Robert Johnson is now part of the library.

Cards: Since there are literally zero sports cards on the pegs because resellers (FYI I can’t wait for that bubble to burst) I looked through the clearance section and found packs of WWE cards which I’ve been kind of collecting. I bought 3 packs of the Women’s Division and one pack of like Summer Slam or something similar. Here is one of the Women’s Packs I found yesterday for $3

04

In the other packs I only pulled one Alexa Bliss card total. In this one pack I got an Alexa, Miss Elizabeth, Charlotte, and Mandy Rose. Apparently this pack was loaded.

Toys: From Walmart when I went looking for GI Joe’s for my brother and my nephew I bought these for myself.

05

Conor McGregor which seems to go first (one store had the full run including the chase figure but zero McGregors and the store I found this one at same deal.)

I also found a cool Hot Wheel

06

It’s Dom’s nephew from the Fast and Furious Cartoon on Netflix.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I’m thinking of making an egg sandwich because I bought bread so I can make toast. I didn’t buy coffee so I can’t make iced coffee which sucks. I’ll go today and pick some up. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I've seen a Deluxe Starlink digital copy on sale on Xbox. I assume it has all the ships and parts, but I'll check next time, because I was very tempted to get a digital copy with everything even though I have a lot, but not all, of the toys.

McGregor's extra head with fight face is pretty funny to me.

That FF car looks like a modified 70s Camero. It's hot! (ahem, so is Alexa, ahem).

Yeah its on sale right now on the Switch as well for either $12 for one set with all the released ships/figures/add-ons, and there's a $23 one that includes the exclusive ships found at certain stores. All digital. I figure since my backlog is huge it can a bit.

Yeah I think it was based on that as well. Dom tends to go with Classic American Muscle and since this is his nephew he probably does as well.

If you ever channel surf say on Friday nights, and come across SmackDown, Bliss is usually spotted there. Tongue Out

I thought Starlink was a pretty good game even without the toys.

It was a good game. I don't know if they added the toys to compete with the other toys to life games but overall gameplay/story it was a fun solid shooter.

I remember it came out just after Activision laid Skylanders to rest, so they were in a field of their own. I guess it was "oops, we didn't know toys-to-life was ending" for them. But, I wanted it still and wish there were still more of those types of games out there.

I've never been into wrestling but I did meet a WWE star at E3 once.  I can't remember her name, but I THINk her first name was like Tracy or Stacy or Lacy or something.  I want to say her last name was Keebler but I doubt she was named after elves who make cookies in a hollow tree.  To me she looked more like a model rather than a wrestler, but I'm pretty clueless about wrestling so what do I know?  My friends were jealous that I got to meet her, though.  Maybe you can pick out a favorite wrestler or two for me.

Stacy Keibler ah yes I miss her. Her entrance music used to be ZZ Top's Legs. She was also on Dancing with the Stars many moons ago. Yeah she was more arm candy and sometimes she would get in the ring.

As for wrestlers there a couple that I like for different reasons:

Pentagon Jr (AEW) he's a luchador with a cool mask and he paints around his mouth so he looks like a skull

AJ Styles (WWE) damn good performer and a bonus he is a huge video game fan. He collects systems and I believe he used to stream. WWE has since outlawed streaming. There might be a YouTube video of his collection.

Xavier Woods (WWE) not really a favorite of mine as a wrestler but he really loves video games. He started Up Up Down Down which was a YouTube show where he would interview wrestlers as played video games.

Alexa Bliss (WWE) obvious reasons.

There are quite a few WWE Superstars who are into video games, toy collecting, and other crazy hobbies

I need to listen to more Robert Johnson. Oddly relaxing. I should also finish watching that RJ documentary.

I really didn't know much about him until I saw probably the same doc you're watching. When I saw the CDs I figured it was a sign to add it to the library.

Robert Johnson's great! Gotta respect a man who sold his soul to the devil to be a great guitar player! Laughing

Haha Right? I always thought that was one of the cooler myths around musicians.
