Bagels with Cream Cheese and a side of leftover WingStop isn’t the ideal breakfast but it was tasty yet now I would like a nap and it’s only 10:55am. Let’s get productive before I give in and ruin this humid, hazy (lots of smoke in the air because California is on fire) Tuesday morning. Let’s get started with things before I forget. I may have a good rant.

Chris Finishes:

Star Wars Battlefront II - Steam (via Origin): I played the single player and holy freaking cow that story is amazing. Legit one of the better Star Wars stories I’ve encountered and it should be a movie. As for the game the game is fine, you can see some of the EA laziness in how some AI characters move (they tend to glitch a bit when getting stuck behind cover), and I encountered something funky when I needed to jump on a platform and my character wouldn’t do it. I finished the main single story campaign, and I just started on the second which I think may have been DLC.

Still Playing:

Madden 20 - Steam (via Origin): The Titans are on the next season where they didn’t make a huge splash in free agency but did pick up Kahlil Mack for a season rental. He’s 35 in game and makes 6 million a season. I like him but his salary is too much for my squad especially when I can get two players for 6 million a season. The Titans are sitting at 9-0, the offense is clicking and nobody sends their entire defense after my QB because he now burns them for 20+ yards completions in man to man.

World Series of Poker - PSP (via emulation): My favorite before bed/when I wake up game is still going strong. In fact Video Game Chris just made the final table in the first event of the year. Here’s hoping to a win and a fancy bracelet.

Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition - Steam: Since eveyone got into Avengers I decided I too would get into an Avengers game, just not the newest one. I bought the Infinity games awhile back and for the most part they are fun if you’re not expecting state of the art graphics, with an immense storyline. There is a lot of content with Infinity and the best part is I don’t have to bring out figures to play it. They’re all in game. Also I don’t know why Iron Man needs a car within the open world if he an fly but that’s just me.

Last week’s Quick Hits Portion

Chris Watches

The Boys Season 2 - Amazon Prime Video: Oh the season started with 3 episodes and I am two episodes down. I forgot how much crazy violence there is in this show (think Daredevil only used in a comedic way). It really is a good show about what if Superheroes are manufactured by a company.

Big Brother - CBS: so far it has been a garbage season….until the last couple of nights when things have gone crazy to the point where people could think some actions are we'll just say getting ugly. Of course this all happened on the live feeds and I caught the tail end of it thanks to Twitter. Usually when I watch the feeds the houseguests are either walking to the bathroom to use the facilities or they are eating. Last night there was some arguing, game talk…and surprise more eating.

NYU Move In/Quarantine - YouTube: I don’t know how I fell into this rabbit hole but I started watching to see what kids are eating while stuck in quarantine for two weeks. Spoiler: Its not good. The food has improved and NYU gave the kids a Grub Hub Per Diem for Dinner so they don’t always have to eat sandwiches, and wraps. These are the random things I watch while eating breakfast.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker - Digital: After playing Battlefront II I watched this movie to end the latest trilogy and well it’s a hot mess. Sorry it didn’t have the same flow as the originals (which it tried to be by mimicking various points) and at times became comical because one scene was full on ripped out of the Goonies. Rey had too much power to the point where she really didn’t need anyone else. What was the point of this? In Return of the Jedi we had cocky Luke but he was still far from his final form of recluse Jedi yet here is Rey who pretty much honed all her skills, was apparently the best pilot in the fleet and a better fighter than the guy who got trained by the Jedi and the Sith. There were so many ideas, loose ends crammed into this movie that after awhile I just made fun of it. Just because here’s my list of favorite Star Wars stories

Chris Reads:

The Boys: I didn’t check what issue number I am on but if you are familiar with the books they just left Russia.

Pickups:

Games:

On Steam I bought

Philippines Basketball Association Basketball Slam for $3.74. Think NBA Jam with professional teams from the Philippines. I know nothing of the teams but I did have an uncle play in it after he played college ball here. It’s not a good game but $3.74 its worth it for the novelty

Star Wars Battlefront II: Celebration Edition for $12. There is a literally a ton of things to do with this game. I have no idea what comes in Celebration Edition but I figured it was like Deluxe Edition.

On Origin:

FIFA 20: Standard Edition for $5. I saw that there is a Street Mode which I like so I’ll play a lot of that. I’ll probably try playing regular soccer with the Galaxy.

Comics:

ComicXology released a bunch of Black Panther issues for free and I grabbed all of them for my library. Here is the link (Black Panther Link To Slick Deals) That link has the sections broken down so click on the link, create an account if you don't have one, and then add to cart and enjoy!

I’ll probably go check on the toys this week hopefully when the air quality improves. Right now its all smoke.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I wonder if ComicXology has an mobile app where you can read that stuff? I'd be tempted.

It does, but even if you pay the subscription, only the first couple trades are available for most series, and you have to buy the rest. It's not expensive, but the paper versions aren't much more.

I'd love to get back into paper graphic novels. One of these days when I'm more flush.

There's something to having a physical copy in your hand, and going to a shop that I really like. For me it comes down to space and convenience, I collect a bunch of random stuff already there isn't room for boxes of issues plus I like having everything on a tablet.

Yeah, space is an issue for me too, but I just don't like reading digital books or comics.

I figure it's free, it builds up a nice little library, to get the interest going and if you want to buy more they're there. They also released a bunch of Scooby Doo comics. I liked the cartoons, I don't know if I'll like the comics but they're in the library just in case.

Continuing our discussion of wrestlers from your last blog, I think the one you listed that would be my favorite so far would be Alexa Bliss, because...well, just because.  I think the wrestlers I would like would be ones who are really athletic and strong, especially the female ones.  I have a thing for strong women I guess.

I think the reason why I have a hard time watching wrestling is becasue the moves they pull on each other look so painful!  I know those fights are scripted, but the athletic prowress of the wrestlers and the things they do to each other certainly are real!

Oh I'm with you on Bliss. If you like strong female wrestlers check out clips of NXT and AEW on YouTube. They tend to be more daring with their matches than the usual Raw/SmackDown in WWE.

I have to hand it to the wrestlers, a lot of what they go through legit hurts yet they do it, and make sure the other person is as safe as possible.

You weren't kidding about the NXT female wrestlers looking strong.  Wow!

I wasn't crazy about Battlefront 2, but I watched my brother play Jedi Fallen Order, and that was a pretty impressive game.
