I tend to skip around a lot especially when the games I’ve been playing don’t really have a story mode or anything really compelling that I need to finish right away. I like to believe most people are like that but I could be the one crazy in the bunch. Who knows, but I tend to make things kind of interesting. This past week there really hasn’t been a must play game with a storyline. Actually I kind of did play one but the story was really easy to figure out but more on that game later. So what did I play? Let’s find out.

Chris Finishes A Story Mode

FIFA 20: Volta Mode - Origin: I’m not a huge soccer fan so FIFA isn’t one of those must have games for me. I have quite a few games but the only real time I would play vs someone on the couch is when my brother wants to play and we turn off the offsides so the game is constantly moving. Volta is the Street Mode of soccer where it’s either 3v3, 4v4, or 5v5 on different sized fields depending on how many players. 3v3/4v4 are usually in a smaller playing surface that is walled in while 5v5 is a scaled down version of the regulation pitch.

I played the story mode where you are a character, joins a team, things happen and you have to build a squad along with your best friend, face some adversity, and then eventually go on to win. You’re not playing for story, you’re playing to build up your character. Make a lot of assists, Score goals, play strong defense, and other in game factors earn you some points to upgrade portions of your player’s game. At the end of the story mode my player, Johnny Kickballz was rated around a 77. After that you can continue to play Volta offline to continue building up your character or take your skills online.

Volta is really the only mode I’ll probably play because it’s fast paced, the games are quick, and after a couple of games I usually go on to play something else.

Other Games I’m Playing

Madden 20 - Steam Via Origin: The Titans won their 3rd Super Bowl in 6 years completing a perfect season by defeating the Dallas Cowboys (that hurts). I’m at the point where I have to start watching stats and overall ratings because once they start to drop I need to start bringing in new players to the skill positions. My young team is now hovering around their low 30s, so I need to start figuring out who isn’t worth the contract anymore.

Mini Motor Racing X - Steam: This was a racing game I bought a while ago but didn’t like because the camera angle sucked. Since I figured out I could change the camera to behind the car, the game has become fun so I’ve been racing in normal mode, and their version of Mariokart.

This game is basically a caricature of different vehicles on a small track. Think the old Ivan Stewart Super Off Road on the NES but with updated graphics.

Marvel Puzzle Quest - Android: I restarted this game and by looking around I’m really behind but I don’t think it’s a big deal because I’m not in an alliance, and I don’t play online. I think I have a stron collection of superheros and I spent Sunday just upgrading heroes and raising levels.

World Series of Poker - PSP Emulator on Android: Yeah I’m still playing Texas Hold’Em, and video game Chris won two invitationals and is currently working on a free event. There’s an AI player who loves to go All-In, and since I’m not trying to be aggressive early on, I’m losing minimal amounts.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good one!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I really wanted to play Marvel Puzzle Quest but didn't like the way it looked on consoles. I'd like to play it on my phone. Maybe I'll look for it.

Mini Motor Racing X is really good.  I'm reviewing it on the Switch.  I can't remember when the embargo lifts, so I won't say anymore than that, but my review will be up soon on GamerDad.com.

PS: I think I remembered a wreslter who could be one of my favorites.  Capt. Lou Albano.  He's passed away, but he was the voice of Mario and in the live action sections of the old Super Mario Super Show cartoon.

PPS: You weren't kidding about those NXT lady wrestlers being strong!  Wow!

I actually prefer playing through storylines, but have been jumping around quite a bit myself lately.
