More Wrestling Game & A Madden Mod

The past couple of months I really haven’t been buying any games. You would think with the Stay At Home order I would have stocked up on some new titles but I didn’t, yet now right before Thanksgiving I am kind of on a run and there is another one I want that is going to be released in a couple of weeks. Anyways more on that stuff hopefully this Friday and for now let’s talk about the stuff I’ve actually played.

WWE Battlegrounds - Switch: After playing nonstop for a couple of days I stopped for a bit and then jumped back in. I started Create-A-Player mode where you take your created player, and follow them through their little story as they meet other wrestlers, fight them, and then earn upgrades. You can either earn the upgrades or you can buy them from the skill tree. I may have hit a roadblock where I need to grind a bit to earn some coin to buy some.

01

My created player is named K Fábe, a little nod to the wrestling term Kayfabe which means the storyline presented in the ring in genuine. It was either that or Dropkick Murphy for obvious reasons.

In other in game news I saved enough in game currency (12k) and unlocked 80s Hulk Hogan. I’d like to unlock as many wrestlers as possible before Thanksgiving because I know my brother would want to play. There’s going to be a lot of grinding.

Madden 20 (NCAA Mod) - Origin: I decided to get back into the world of Madden Modding (last time was 2007 with my Los Angeles Trojans) and this time I wanted to give this one a try because the good people who created this mod included all the FBS teams which I believe is over 100 teams. The mod is 5GBs of files and took I believe 10 minutes to install but after that initial install it instantly loads using the Frosty Mod.

The presentation is amazing, gameplay is solid, and there are a lot of the same options that are available in the regular Madden game. My gripe is for San Diego State. The field is perfect, the uniforms are from I believe 2017, and the helmet logo is the older one with the word “STATE” in the SD.

03

These are the uniforms in game

04

These are our current uniforms. I get it is going to take a little more time to get the Mayan Calandars on the uniforms/helmets so overall it’s not really a big deal, but it would have been nice.

So SDSU bought the Qualcomm site in San Diego (former home of the Padres and Chargers) and is converting the land into SDSU Mission Valley which is an extension of the University including a river park, housing, technology classrooms, retail/restaurant district AND a new stadium, the Aztecs will play this season and next season in Carson California, which is home to the Los Angeles Galaxy. The mod in game uses this stadium as the home stadium for UCLA but its ours for the next two seasons

05

This is also where the Chargers called home for a couple of seasons.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I’ve been away for a bit so it’s time to catch up while eating some breakfast. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

WWE Battlegrounds had a rewards quest attached to it this week on Xbox, but I wasn't willing to buy it just for rewards points. I do want to play it though. Maybe it'll hit Game Pass sometime.

I'm going to email THQ after all to request a review copy of WWE Battlegrounds.  It may be too late, but I'll try anyway.

If I created a wrestler, it would be a super strong female wrestler with pink hair!

Oh and by the way, I think you were talking about this game before, so I wanted to share with you my review of Mini Motor Racing X:

That Madden mod sounds pretty amazing. I gave up buying those games, but I am happy it's on PC now too.
