Good morning Pixlpeeps (It’s still morning here). For some reason it’s really warm today so the heater is off, the sliding door is open and I’m enjoying the weird January weather. I don’t know what else to say here really so I guess we should start.

Chris Watches…

I’m starting to get back into watching Life Below Zero. I think it’s idea of hunting for your food, working the land, living a much simpler life. It also might be because it sounds a lot like the other show I’ve been watching Little House on the Prairie. I think it was a repeat episode I saw last night but it was new to me where the Halestone’s found an intact whale skull, tried to take it back on their boat but the weight of the skull made their boat unstable so they dumped it. Finding a whale skull is crazy, but then dumping it knowing that you can find another one later is just mind blowing.

I’ve also been watching Hell’s Kitchen even though all of this season is on YouTube. I like having the routine of sitting in the living room on Thursday night with my dinner watching people burn water, and undercook chicken. It beats watching on a laptop/tablet/phone.

I also have my steady diet of Little House, The Challenge, and 90 Day Fiance, but I do from time to time go back to watching PBS Create especially when it’s a cooking show.

Chris Listens To…

I’m doing good with my new album a day goal. I’ve listened to 23 new albums and 7 singles/maxi singles. I have a spreadsheet where I type out each album and single I listen to along with the date and my only goal other than listening to new to me music is rating the songs in my mp3 library. My FLAC library I’m not using for this because the mp3 library is usually the one I take on trips.

Pickups

This is going to be a mix of stuff I bought before I got sick, and after I am pretty much over it. Of course the new stuff is mainly digital.

Games

01

From Ross after Thanksgiving I bought this because someone on Reddit said I could use the PC Emulator to play this game plus who doesn’t want another venue to use all the little toys I bought from the 99 Cent Only Stores a couple of years ago.

03

These two iOS games were Reddit recommendations that were free, no in app purchases, and can be played offline. Perfect mobile games for me. More about both on Monday

Toys

Again bought them before I got sick

From Walmart I spent a lot including getting my brother and my nephew the final three GI Joe figures to complete their wave 1 set and I bought this for myself

02

I always wanted the dune buggy but never got one as a kid. Now I have one and at some point I will assemble it. I also picked up this toy

04

05

How do you not love Ravishing Rick Rude. It is the running change version where the robe is packed away instead of Rick wearing it. Apparently the robe was staining the skin so the packaging was changed. Doesn’t matter because I opened it.

The final one was from Burlington. I was originally going to buy this on Amazon for $11 but never got around to it. When I decided to do so the price jumped into the $20s. Burlington had a bunch for $7.

06

I do like these Contrux figures because they are so random, I can now have He-Man invade my Game of Thrones world, and I’m debating on picking up the Halo figures.

Anyways that is all, and I am out. Have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

My mom used to watch 90 Day Fiance all the time.  There are tons of that show!  They could make a whole channel about it.  I can't stand it, personally.

I'm glad I bought the original LEGO Dimensions.  I didn't get to review it, but I got to review pretty much all the add ons later, so it was one of the best gaming purchases I made.

Looks like Teela ate her spinach in that He-Man set.  I wasn't into He-Man as a kid either, but I watched the cartoon because there were other kids in my house who wanted to watch it.  I also watched the She-Ra cartoon because my mom wanted to watch it.  One day while I was playing outside with a neighbor kid, that kid asked me, "What's your mom's name?"  When I said, "Sheilah," his eyes got big and he yelled out, "Whoa, your mom is She-Ra?"  Once my mom heard that, she was like, "Oh we have to watch that cartoon now."  She hasn't seen the new one on Netflix.  She does use the name She-Ra as her character in video games she plays.

There are so many spinoffs and with Discovery launching their Discovery+ Channel there's even more content. I like the show but not enough to spend $5 a month to watch even more of these yahoos.

For Dimentions I bought the PS4 version on launch and spent way too much on the base and a couple of extra figures. Thanks to places like Ross I was able to get the 360 and now WiiU versions for less than the Team Packs originally retailed for. If Ross still has the PS3 version I might get it, just to say I have them all.

We had a couple of He-Man's growing up and I had the plane and I wanted He-Man but my mom bought Teela as a joke. We eventually got the main characters thanks to a random thrift store that had a bucket full. I'm excited that they are in Lego Minifigure form (but they are bigger than actual Lego Minifigures).

I've got to get back to some toys-to-life games. I never did finish Lego Dimensions.

I saw a sale on matchbox cars at the supermarket today. A dollar each. I almost got one, but then saw how many they had. So many. I know I'd get carried away with it if I started.

If you get the chance you should finish the game.

Oh that's how they get you with the little cars. They're a buck, they look cool, you buy a couple and soon you're buying multiples of the Batman vehicles so you can have one to open and one to keep sealed. Yeah don't be like me have a plastic bin full of sealed cars, and a small bin of opened cars.

I've never kept anything sealed, but I have multiple bins of toys-to-life figures. I don't want to fill up bins with cars too. Well, I do, but I shouldn't.

I bought my brother an old 1980s GI Joe Vamp jeep off eBay for Christmas. It was actually in really good condition. Every christmas I buy him some old toy he used to have when he was a kid. It's a nostalgia treat for him, and he displays them in his home.

Ooh that's another vehicle I really like. It's a really cool designed vehicle. That's is an awesome gift.
