Mid Week Recap

So get this, last week I had a Quick Hits written and ready to go, but just didn’t post. I got caught up in some things, and then on Monday, and Tuesday actual worked popped up including scanning pictures. You know what’s wild? When you take a picture that’s seen better days since it was taken in the 1940s, you not only make the torn sections go away, but you make it almost look like it was taken yesterday and nobody says “hey thanks for working your magic on this” it’s kind of annoying, but whatever. I’m here, you’re here, let’s type this up, catch up on stuff I missed here the past week or so, and then get back to scanning pictures and working my magic.

Chris Plays…

Pocket City - iOS/Windows: Usually I save mobile games for the end but I wanted to point out how insanely hooked I am on this game. I hit the Level 100 mark on the phone, the laptop, and the iPad, and then started new games instead of just building up the cities I have plus the surrounding cities for each version of the game. Heck I even had a dream where I was playing the damn game. Anyways I have a new layout I was testing earlier this morning on the iPad before my alarm went off, so I might give it another shot. I’m also toying with the idea of buying the game on Google Play even though it’s I believe $3.

Grand Theft Auto V - PC (Rockstar): So for a couple of months the Menyoo trainer was broken, probably because I updated the game. Well I reinstalled it twice (first time I forgot to remove the left over files) and once I had a clean install, I went back to adding the most recent version of Menyoo and my offline god mode experience is back. In true Chris fashion I’m going to start a new game…just as soon I remember how to install custom cars because really why drive around in the in game banshee when you can roll in a Ferrari with chrome rims? Yeah that’s gaudy but hell it’s a game, so why not. After I did this I found out I kept a backup copy already on my laptop for occasions like this. I’m a dumbass for not using it, and since I will probably forget again I just erased the backup and saved 78GB of space. Fun fact: my first desktop in college only had 6GB of space.

Madden 20 - PC (Origin): So my starting QB Marcus Mariotta wanted more money but he threw (me on the sticks) a lot more Interceptions than usual, and I figured it was time to start the rebuild early so I shipped him off to Tampa for their backup. The second year kid out of Michigan has a cannon for an arm and since week 6 he’s thrown for 4,000+ yards. I think I found my QB1. Next step is to replace my starting and backup running backs.

Various Racing Games - PC (Steam): Last week Fanatical had a Racing game bundle for $5. I bought it because I wanted the DLC for Redout. I gave two of the keys away to my cousin who just got their first PC for Christmas so he was low on games. I kept the DLC, and I think maybe four games and tried them out. There is a motorcycle racing game on the Isle of Man, where you race the clock. I tried playing on Manual and it’s kind of fun. I might give this game a play on manual. I tried Grip and I’m not a fan. Thank goodness I didn’t spend the $30 or whatever it is on the Switch version. I’d like to give the other games a try later on but for now I have pictures I need to scan.

Speaking of pictures this is where I shall call it a day (I’ll probably respond to some blogs here first), anyways have a good one!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I considered replaying Dragon Quest XI on PS4 after just beating it on Xbox since I still have a hard copy for PS4. Do I have another 80 hours? Probably not?

How do you scan them? I've been scanning my family's photos for a couple years now, using my iPad Pro to take pics of them. I just got an iPhone 11 for my birthday though, and it has a better camera.

I wonder if my history archivist roommate could use your scanning skills.
