Quick Hits: Update On My MCU Watchlist

So this has been my morning: I woke up, bought an app for Android that plays my music, synced a folder of around 7 thousand songs but it won’t use the album art. Now I’m back to using the older music app that uses the album art but syncs like it was the 1990s on 56k. My dedicated digital audio player however can take 7 thousand FLAC files and sync them in a couple of minutes, while Android takes forever and a day just with MP3s. Blah. This is dumb. Let’s get started.

Last week I had a Quick Hits all planned but didn’t hit publish. No idea why, but I didn’t so this week I’ll take some of that blog, paste it into here and add some new stuff in it. Sound good?

Chris Watches the MCU In Order…

This is my checklist after starting on the 10th

I finished Season 1 and Season 2 of Marvel’s Agent Carter, which is a solid show that should have had a longer run. After watching this series I wished that Marvel would have made a show about single Howard Stark.

Captain Marvel: This was my first time watching this movie and the first half it felt like a DC movie, but the second half it got really good and I was rooting for the characters. The girl power theme got out of hand with No Doubt’s I’m Just A Girl playing during the fight scene but I dug it.

Iron Man 1&2: I’ve seen them multiple times and enjoyed them. How do you not like Tony Stark in a suit blowing stuff up? There were more things in it that I went “oh yeah that was in Captain America/Captain Marvel/Agent Carter.”

Incredible Hulk: This was my first time watching but I did listen to the audiobook so I knew the plot. This movie was a lot better than that I thought it would be. It explains why Stan Lee becomes the Hulk in Lego Marvel, it has sad piano music from the TV Show, and a fun cameo (you can kind of figure who it is). I really enjoyed this movie.

In the next couple of days I’ll watch Thor, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor 2.

My next Superhero flick is the Snyder Cut of Justice League. I make fun of the original because it wasn’t good. Why did I set through 4 hours of new cut? Because it actually made sense this time and even if it was a little (a lot) long, but it was long for a reason. Lots of back story, and more details but finally a decent flick.

After all that superhero stuff I needed a break so this past week no superheros including my new favorite Superman and Lois.

Chris Listens To

Ok so a little background on what I am doing right now. I have four music players and each kind of have a job:

-My main player (200GB) that’s full of FLAC files.

-My Bengie player (128GB) that’s small and I use for walking and gym. It also has FLAC files.

-SanDisk (128GB) that’s gong to be either audiobooks, or nothing but a genre player. I’m thinking dedicated Christmas music

-Android Burner phone (200GB). This will be the workhorse MP3 player that I use in the shower and when I am traveling because it has Bluetooth.

Right now I’m stuffing the Burner Phone with music because since I stopped using Spotify I’ve been listening to Sports Radio in the shower and I like to argue with the host. I’d rather listen to music. I’ve tried a handful of music apps and the most recent is Stellio that I really liked, spent $5 on but it won’t show my music’s album cover. Instead it wants me to download covers. Because of that I’m back to Rocket Player which is fine but I’m out $5. Oh well.

Chris Reads

I read a book by Alex Banayan called The Third Door. This book deals with how some of the most successful people on the planet became successful. It was interesting not only in how the author got their start but also how other successful people did. Fun read.

Pickups

Games

So I bought a racing bundle on Fanatical for $5. It came with two games I already own so I gave those keys to my cousin who got a desktop gaming setup from Santa and wanted games for his small Steam library. I bought the bundle mainly for the Redout DLC. I also bought surprise, a copy of Pocket City for Android, because I don’t have enough cities to keep track of. I almost bought a copy of Sim City because it was under $10 but I have a fear that if I did I would stop playing Pocket City.

Other Stuff

My nephew had a birthday so I bought him some toys and a book, and I threw in a 200 GB Micro SD card for around $20. Since they are cheap I might as well start to replace all the 128 GB cards I have and hopefully this time next year I can snag 512 GB cards for cheap. It’s amazing how cheap storage has become.

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I've been meaning to watch Justice League but still haven't got to it.

My new toy is a cordless drill/screwdriver I got from Walmart for $20.

I'm gonna watch Spider-Man: Far From Home soon. I skipped the Antman movies, the third Thor, Dr. Strange, and Captain Marvel. I only have so much time! Laughing
