I Was In Las Vegas

Good evening Pixlpeeps! So I’ve been gone for the week and I have a good reason: my one year old nephew turned one, and he was on his Spring Break from his School so I was in Las Vegas for the week spending time with him. I tried to make it a no internet week, but I was sometimes on Twitter but I’ll save the random Vegas stories for Quick Hits but I did play a lot of games (a lot for me) because little guy likes to take power naps throughout the day and he goes to bed super early so when I wasn’t singing along with Baby Shark (there’s a one hour loop, and there’s another video of just remixes) and being the fun uncle, I was playing some games.

Chris Plays:

Pocket City - iOS/Windows: Surprisingly there wasn’t a lot of this. I played maybe 20 minutes of it in the car on the way to Las Vegas and even less on the way home. At my brother’s house I spent maybe two hours total, with one hour playing on my phone while watching 90 Day Fiance.

Grid 2019 - PC (Steam): I usually played this game at night when everyone went to sleep and I was chilling in my room. I got some races in while listening to sports radio, and it seems I tend to make one or two enemies per race. Maybe it’s my aggressive nature on the course where I give a love tap to their car, and by love tap I mean slam into them trying not to spin out, or constantly tapping their bumper to make them move. I’ll get better…or make more enemies. We shall see.

Madden 20 - PC (Origin): Another game I thought I would play a lot of but didn’t. I got in maybe 3 games and two of those games I took the L. One of the games was the return of my former QB who is now leading the Rams, and they came to play. I think when I stopped playing in the third quarter it was 34-16. After that I just did the sim to the end of the game. The next game was another loss, and finally the last game the offense came back and the Lions ran wild and scored 48.

Pokemon X…or Y - 3DS: One night I woke up at 4am, couldn’t sleep so I fired up the 3DS and played one of them. I spent an hour, fell asleep, and the next day I spent an additional 2 hours playing. I then turned the game off, forgetting to save my progress. Yeah that was the last of that game

Pokemon Moon - 3DS: After lunch and when my nephew was asleep I decided to give this game a try. I named my character BadAss just so the other characters can say “Hey BadAss” and my Pokemon are named after rappers/musicians. My primary Pokemon is a red and black cat that I named Ms. Jackson (because of Janet Jackson’s song Black Cat). I am waiting for a later level when I get a more powerful Pokemon so I can name it Rick Astley. It’ll be my kill blow and I can say I Rick Rolled the other trainer.

In other games my nephew has a Tiger Electronic handheld of the X-Men. My brother bought it and then put it in my nephews toy bins so sometimes little man plays with it. He likes the sounds. I said the game was a lot harder than I remembered it. My brother said the controls are weird. Other than that I played with a lot of little kids toys with my nephew and the two GI Joe’s that my brother opened so he can hold.

Alright Pixlpeeps that’s all I really played. I got some use out of my 3DS XL, I brought my Switch but really didn’t play with it (it never left it’s case) and I didn’t touch my little Genesis handheld, but I want to beat Pokemon Moon, mainly because I think the logo looks like the Wu Tang Clan’s W. Anyways I am off, have a good one!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Your one year old nephew is in school?  Wow!

I went to Vegas a long time ago.  Like, more than ten years ago.  It's an interesting place.  Not a good family vacation spot, no matter what they try to tell you.

Quick bits about what I remember in Vegas: slot machines are boring, I went to an M&Ms store, pictures don't do the Grand Canyon justice, Circus Circus has a cool arcade but the hotel itself is really run down, and neon lights are cool.  We stayed at the Excalibur and was only there for like 3 days, not near enough time to see everything.  Not sure if I'll ever go back. I'd like to, but you know, money.

I often think about jumping on a redeye to Las Vegas but not to gamble. I want to go to the Pinball Hall of Fame.

I got Pokémon Shield for Xmas a couple years ago, but I haven't played it yet. But I promised myself I would give a Pokémon game a serious shot. Sooner or later.
