It’s been a long time since I’ve updated you good people, heck it’s been a minute since I’ve been on here. Currently in Southern California we are under a heat advisory because it’s going to hit 113° and there is no way I’m going to be outside…I will probably be outside at some point today. Anyways let’s get started.

Chris Plays

Burnout Paradise - PC (Steam): I’ve gone back to an old favorite when it comes to open world arcade racing. I just got in a mood and I’ve been playing maybe 30 minutes to an hour every other night. Nothing serious, just trying some races and getting my license up to A (I’ve completed this game on console many moons ago, so this is just a fun play through).

Project Cars - PC (Steam): Video Game Chris (I think my name is Randy Quick) dominated the go karts and then moved up to slightly faster go karts. I think the last race I started was driving actual cars which was a little weird. I stayed with the same team because of some kind of weird in game loyalty.

Pocket City - PC/iOS: This has been my “I have a couple of minutes lets play” game. I believe on the iPad I’m doing the 9 cities based on the names of the Dallas Cowboys, and on my laptop I’m playing with 9 cities based on the Chicago Bulls (MJ era).

NBA 2K21 - PC (Epic): I’ve played a couple of exhibition games and I’m not going to lie this game is a hot mess. First I can’t access my graphics for a custom team, then the video that plays during loading doesn’t work, it’s just a green screen, and the actual gameplay doesn’t feel as smooth as it should be. I’ve enjoyed older NBA games and I’ll probably go back to one of those to scratch that basketball itch.

No Man’s Sky - PC: I started this game thinking I was going to be all Captain Kirk, exploring, blowing things up, more exploring, blowing more things up, but man after that what seems forever load screen I have to shoot at random plants so my character doesn’t die. This seems like a job, not me exploring and blowing things up. We’ll see how long I stick with this game.

NHL 2K2 - Dreamcast (Emulator): I own the game on the actual Dreamcast but I don’t want to keep on connecting it/disconnecting it everytime I want to play, plus I’m the laptop. The game is a little glitchy with the ice turning black during replays, and the little halo thing that tells you the player is a little wonky but other than that (and using a 360 controller) the game is fine. The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim are undefeated but man once the lower lines start playing the game gets a little interesting.

Randoms:

-I really haven’t had much time to sit and play something especially a game with a long drawn out story but on Sunday I did have some time and I spent that installing a bunch of games. I cleaned out a hard drive so I have an extra 1TB to play with so why not install some games, right?

-I want to jump back into the games I’ve started like remember when I was the greatest Pokemon trainer in the world, or when I was running through that Mario and Luigi game? Those are games I could/should be playing and finishing before moving onto the next hotness.

Alright Pixlpeeps my breakfast break is just about over. I’ll be back in a bit. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I've been craving a Nintendo first party game myself, but I'm not quite sure what.

Burnout Paradise is a damn fine game. I bought the complete version on sale for the PS3 back in the day, and played a lot of it. I just had never played a racing game like that before.

My favorite "blow things up, explore, blow more things up" game is Journey to the Savage Planet. i just bought the DLC for it but I still need to beat the main game.
