Little Bit Bullet Point, Little Bit Rock N' Roll

Oh Pixlbit, I thought for this week, instead of a long drawn out blog about why I played/liked/hated game X, I decided to bring a little something form the former home (no disrespect), and we’re going with the quick hit tidbits of what’s been going on.

Yes we’re going to jump to random topics like what I’m playing, what’s been going on, and whatever pops in my head as I type this, so sit back, hit play on the Youtube video for some background music, and take part in my first blog I like to call

“Little Bit Bullet Point, Little Bit Rock N’ Roll”

This is me. Yep the day of Game 7 between the Ducks and Red Wings. So much hope, and wanting to have the Freeway series take place in the playoffs only to have that damn Octopus get the win.

Do you want to see what happens when I watch The Voice?

I find a performance I like, I spent the $1.29 on it. I listened to it a couple of times since. I do like The Voice, but I tend to lose interest once the teams are picked. I like the drama of having the judges just listen to the singers (packaging does play a role). This replaced Idol for me.

UFC 3 has been good to me. Lots of violence packed into an Octagon, but I do think I bit off more than I can chew by going up a difficulty. I might have to restart my career on a level I’m more used to, build up my skills, and then take it on.

I’m still going to pre-order this game. Yes I know it’s going to be really REALLY bad, but I do hope I can do the following: drag a safe, take down an airplane, deliver Oscar quality lines like “I live my life a quarter mile at a time”, and race a lot of really colorful cars with glowing neon, and a lot of Nos. That’s not too much to ask for $40.

While roaming around Toys-R-Us for a gift for a 2 year-old girl, I walked down this aisle. I’m never on this side because 1. There’s no Lego here, 2. There are only a handful of girls in the family. While walking down this aisle I thought it was creepy because they all stare at you. Can you imagine how it is when the store is closed and the lights are dimmed?

I tried out the Caramel Ribbon Crunch at Starbucks and it really should be called “Diabetes in a Cup”. This is the first time I’ve seen this section of the ‘bucks empty. Usually it’s full of those dudes with the Macbook’s trying to do work, but end up just playing with Google Earth (I saw a guy do this on a previous visit). I’ve decided I want to sit here one day, and do the same.

Saw this at Party City and I thought it was hilarious, and needed to share.

I started playing Temple Run Oz again, because well I paid for it so I need to get my .99 cents worth out of it. It’s not a great score, but it’s a start, and hopefully I get back to hitting the millions again. I do like the change of this game compared to other Temple Run’s with the dips, and turns to confused the heck out of me in my first couple of plays since downloading this game.

This is the current rotation of games I’m playing on the PS3. I believe they are NCAA Football 13, NBA Live 10, Bullet Storm, Prototype 2, Fight Night, and a couple I can’t remember. I played one game per sport, and then usually jump into part of a level of one of the action/shooter games, until I get to a save point.

***Spoiler Free Thoughts On Iron Man 3***

So I saw Iron Man 3 yesterday morning because all my projects were finished early and I had some time to kill. It was me and 6 other randoms in an otherwise empty theater.

Yep that’s me watching one of the many MANY previews. I don’t go to the movies a lot so this is new to me, but why is there previews before the previews? Before the movie previews started I watched an extended trailer for Olympus has Fallen, how they built some random HTC phone, commercials for TV Shows, and at least five ads to turn off your cell phone.

Oh yeah my review: I liked this movie, but I don’t know if I agree with the majority of folks who say it’s better than the second. I liked them both, but I think they’re about even. Both films felt they dragged on a bit in some parts. My favorite character other than that red iron guy? Pepper Potts. I like how she was the normal one to crazy Tony Stark in the first two films and in the third she keeps it going. One thing I really didn’t care for, and it really isn’t a spoiler, but the ad placements. If you see the film, a couple stick out. Just a little FYI.

Awhile ago I bought a bunch of inexpensive games from GameStop, and last weekend I decided to give one of them a try.

I don’t really follow soccer, but I was always curious about this game because it just involved the European Nations. I decided to give it a go with a country that isn’t a power, and see if I can lead them to victory

I went with the nation of San Marino, which as a nation has a smaller population than SDSU. I’ve played two games so far, going 1-1. I ran up the score on another random country during a Friendly, and lost 4-3 to Germany in a Qualifier. I’m angry about that one because I had two open shots and hit pass instead of shoot. It would have been a 5-4 game but oh well.

Typical EA soccer game, presentation is nice, gameplay is decent, and feels like any other FIFA game.

This is what I hate about Candy Crush Saga…other than the fact that I’ve been sucked into Candy Crush Saga. I’m currently on Level 100, and well this has replaced Simpsons Tapped Out as my go to Tablet game. People keep sending me stuff, so I use it. I’d like to say sorry to the folks on my Friends list in that game because I don’t do the same. It’s not that I don’t care, it’s the shame of people knowing I play Candy Crush (this is my SMH/LOL moment)

In the excitement of the new Fast and Furious, I saw these at Walmart while looking for the Lone Ranger Lego sets (local store doesn’t have them, store 15 miles away is lousy with them) I don’t know if I want to open them, and race the baby cousins when they come to visit, but if I do, I’m going to use all the Fast and Furious lines I know while the 3 and 6 year old will have puzzled looks on their faces.

I know this was a Playstation Plus game, and it currently sits on my hard drive, but Target was blowing out random $20 games for $5 bucks last week. I would have bought the others but I already owned them. I’m halfway through this game on Plus, and this will free up 15 gigs on my PS3.

So I finally sat down and filled out my survey for the Lego Store at Downtown Disney and received this email

I know it’s probably some generic email they send out, but I appreciate the fact that they did take time to say Thanks, and an e-mail/phone number in case I don’t have a good experience. Lego is keeping up with Disney’s TGS (Total Guest Satisfaction) /Former Cast Member Moment

The local Toys-R-Us released the Castle sets early, and the big shock is that the small battle packs aren’t even hit with the TRU price increase. I can’t justify buying the Castle at $109 right now, but I will get it, because the Castle sets were the ones I wanted growing up, but never got. I did however buy five of these

Yup I’m building an Army for when I do buy the Castle. I’ll continue to buy one or two of these sets every week just to build up a sizeable army. I really don’t care for the other parts of the set so they’ll be used for parts. I also want to do this for the Lone Ranger battle packs so I might have to go one of each.

The final thing I’d like to share is I saw this on Feedly yesterday.

So this takes place after Avengers and Coulson isn’t dead. I’m interested in it, and I wonder if Robin from How I Met Your Mother is going to join this cast. Because of this, I decided to post a group shot of my Lego Avengers set…The uber exclusive edition including the hidden member of the Avengers

Tiger Woods.

Well that’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I put off buying the Hulk set for the longest time because other than the Hulk, I really wasn't excited about the rest of the set. I had a little extra cash so I went for it. Love the Hulk, and the rest of the set isn't bad. I'll probably use the pieces from this set to build the Tony Stark's basement.

Wow man, lots of great stuff!

I was rooting for your Ducks as well (I'm so sick of the Red Wings). My Penguins got lucky with game 6 against the Islanders, and tonight starts our new series against the Senators. Hopefully we'll be able to get past them and continue moving forward.

Hate the Wings, and I really don't like the Senators. I hope the Pens beat them. Hockey is done for me because I don't care for the Kings, but I'd like to see the Sharks make some noise because they're the other California team.

Lego are fun, and building your own creations is pretty cool. Don't step on a piece or else that calm turns you into the Hulk Smile

I liked Iron Man 3 more than 2, but then I never had the love affair with the first one everyone else did, so I just enjoy these as popcorn flicks. Plus, on one hand the twist was good and clever and definitely made me laugh, but the story was bland to me, especially once that happened.

I actually went to Starbucks the other day and had a hot panini. Nothing else. It was a tasty panini though. lol

I agree they're good popcorn flicks, and that isn't a bad thing. I really liked the first one because I never read the comics (the only rich guy crime fighter I liked was Batman) so it was all new to me.

I'll have to try the panini. I usually go in and get a cheese danish and a drink.

All the Iron Man films are the same to me.  Just fun entertaining super hero movies.

The Super hero movies are good fun summer flicks. Of course they got me sucked into buying the Lego versions of them so their marketing did their job Smile

Are you at all surprised my favorite football team in Europe is the Celtics? Not the greatest team out there, but I like em. Straight outta Glasgow! How did that octopus throwing get started? Saw it on TV one time and was curious. That Fast and Furious game might be worth it for 40 bucks. Why can't the mayhem ever match Burnout Paradise?  Even I excel at that one. Do you think they would have enough ladies around to keep Tiger interested in joining The Avengers? Notice where he is standing there....yeah,it's on! Going to see Iron Man 3 on Saturday and really look forward to it. Pepper Potts is just impossible to not like. She's cute, funny, and tough as nails.

Oh nice, I'm not a big European soccer fan but I've had some experience with the Scottish Premier League. I used to use Aberdeen in the Dynasty part of FIFA (it was the same name as my brother's old dorm in college), and they would get rocked by the Celtics.

Fans back in the day started throwing Octopi on the ice because it's tentacles which represented the number of wins needed to win the Stanley Cup. There were only six teams so the road to a championship was short. It stuck around and that's one of their traditions.

I'm glad someone picked up on where I placed Tiger in my Lego Avengers. Little juvenile, but I got a kick out of it.

If you've seen the previous Iron Man flicks, I think you'll enjoy this one too.
