What Have I Been Up To

So I haven’t been around lately. Sorry Pixlbit. I’ve been busy with other stuff and I was playing some games during this time, but I’ve found some free time to update my blog and the latest going on in my part of the World Wide Web.

NBA Finals

I didn’t have a rooting interest in this game other than SDSU’s own Kawhi Leonard

I thought he did an awesome job, and if the supporting cast didn’t disappear, and LeBron showing why he should be considered one of the best players in history, the Spurs could be champions. It was good to see LeBron showing respect for Kawhi after the game.

Android Games

I’ve been somewhat playing a couple of them. Nothing big. I finished off Candy Crush, which is a pain, and I no longer have to deal with it.

The Simpsons went stale for me for a couple of months, until they opened up the option to buy land and parts of the water. I got some game play in, and well it went back to be being stale for me. I don’t blame the game, I think I just burned out on it by playing it every single day.

They added an odd one time feature that asks you for your age. Yup not like a kid won’t put in an older age.

I tried out another Temple Run clone, this time it was Monster’s University. This is a fun game, and it takes a different viewing angle in the game, but the concept is basically the same. I played a couple of games before calling it a day, and haven’t loaded it up since.

I do want to unlock Lando Angry Bird, but I’m really burned out on Angry Birds.

Vita Games

I know I said I wouldn’t buy any more Vita games for a while, but some reason a bunch of games were dropped to $20 bucks, including a couple I’ve been watching, so I added them to the backlog. I also picked up a Power Up Card*

*I decided on buying a card because I visit the local store maybe one or twice every two weeks. The employee that works there seems to know me, is very laid back, and doesn’t put the pressure on to for me to buy something. Same guy I bought my last two games from, and when I went to buy Assassin’s Creed, he said they ran out. Rather than try to push the used game, he offered to check the other store. He made sure it was there, and even asked if they had a sealed one (they didn’t). To thank him for being cool with me I bought a card. At least he gets another sale for his numbers and now I get some magazine for my iPad.

I do like Assassin’s Creed, but right now the game is slow, so I only play in little pieces. As for Sly, I’m still in the first main level after trying it out.

It seems like a fun platformer, and this is the type of game that seems perfect for handhelds.

I see what you did there, creators of Sly Cooper

PS3

I tried the new NCAA Football demo, and well aside from a couple of small improvements, it’s still the same game. I seem to say this every.single.season.

I unlocked some pack of cards for use in the full size game.

EA has gotten REALLY lazy with NCAA14 starting with Teambuilder. The colors and sounds are still same, along with the options for your Teambuilder teams. You would think with the latest fad being chrome/matte helmets, and multicolored facemasks, they would find their way into game. Nope.

The makers didn’t even bother to include SDSU’s new uniforms or update the field. I mean c’mon we announced the new look way before the game was finished. I know they’re going to offer uniform packs like last year, but the field is messed up. It’s like EA gave up. How about they open up the college football license, and let 2K made a football game. At least they actually want to make a quality product.

I took the New York Knicks to the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, and my one goal was to make Russell Westbrook (I traded Jason Kidd to OKC for him) the MVP.

I do miss this special court design for the Finals.

I ended up sweeping the Lakers, and winning the NBA Finals. I think I’m going to continue this Dynasty because through free agency and the draft I picked up some very good role players. I might play a game or two after this blog.

Game Of Thrones

So I finally got sucked into this show, and I finished off the first season earlier this week, and I am now working my way through Season 2.

The funny part about this show, is that I only watch it on HBO Go, and I’ll only watch on a tablet or laptop. I tried to watch it streaming on my television and for me it doesn’t feel right. Odd I know.

Well that’s all for now, more later!

i really want to play those two Vita games.  Liberation looks cool for its female heroine, and I've heard great things about Sly.

That sucks EA is so lazy with that football game. I love football and hate Madden.  I'm going to buy it this year though since it's the 25th anniversary but I hate those bastards.

I haven't gotten into game of thrones, but watching it on a tablet seems pretty chill.

Both are pretty good. Can't go wrong with both being $20 each, and if had more time I'd probably get through more of each.

I hate was EA has done. Ever since getting exclusive licenses they have basically become lazy, and if we want to play football it's either their "new" game or nothing. I'm getting NCAA but if there was a alternate version I would go with that one this season.

Thrones is the only show, so far, that I really like to watch on a tablet. A couple of nights ago, I watched it while laying on the patio furnature.

So I saw Monsters University and loved it. In the credits (I always stay for credits) it mentioned games available. Apparently they made games only for iOS/Android because I don't see a console or even 3DS/Vita game out there. I wonder if this is the way movie liscenced games are going: Phone/PC only and leaving consoles behind.

I just sit through the credits now because there could be a hidden scene. That's interesting that they're only going with Phone/PC. Maybe because it cost a little more to develop for consoles, and they don't sell very well? There isn't much to the Monsters U game, but if you're younger and like the Temple Run style of games, this is perfect.

I'm a total movie nerd and actually look through the credits for interesting trivia. Monsters University had lots of side bar graphics that were funny. One was an request for a roomate with these three requirements: No Shedding, No Sloughing, and No Slime. That pretty much covers most monster types. It's smart and funny. Just what I expect from Pixar.

Liberation is such a fun game. It amazes me how they cram all that goodness into a Vita game. I have to take it in small chunks the way you do,though. The Simpsons Tapped Out is one I never seem to tire of. Still haven't given them one thin dime for donuts....suckas! I played some Angry Birds:Star Wars this morning. I want Lando, too. I like using the blasters and light saber to smash things up.

I like Liberation much more than the PSP Assassin's game (I really haven't played much of the console games). So far I think it's a solid game, and well worth $20.

Good to hear you haven't given in and bought donuts. I'm trying to get back into it. I played a little bit yesterday, and I'm still updating how my Springfield looks.

I really want to get back into SW Angry Birds just for Lando, but after a level, I'm over it. Eventually I'll get the Lando Bird
