I am looking at getting a better headset for my PS3 and 360. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I only have one for PC and it was expensive because I needed a soundcard with it. It seem though that there are headphones for every price out there, it just depends what you're willing to spend.  I'm not an expert though.  Laughing

I went nuts and got the big Turtle Beach headsets. One for PS3 and one for 360. They were both around 240 bucks. You can't go wrong with the brand. But they do offer more affordable ones that sound really great. That official one they came out with for PS3 is very good as well. I used it at my brother's house once.

I am looking at those and the Skullcandy.

Don't buy Turtle Beach - 90% of the price is for the name, there are tons of other "surround sound" (see below) headsets that sound just as good, if not better, for $40-$60. and honestly, you can use a normal PC headset if you already own one (with separate 1/8th jacks for mic/headphones) and get a 1/8 stereo to 3/32 mono adapter, dual rca to 1/8 jack, and a 1/8 stereo coupler (about $10 in suppplies) and use that. Also - don't worry about "surround sound" headphones - it's not possible, you can't have the equivalent of 7.1 when the speakers are millimeters from your ears. Get a good stereo headset and you'll hear positional sound better. Don't spend over $60, you can get lower end Sennheisers or Steelseries (usually a tad pricier) and get the same quality as a $200+ "gaming" headset.

I figured that but if they sound good that is what I am worried about. I am not fooled by the 5.1 and 7.1 stuff, LOL, Even with surround sound not many movies or games support 7.1.

I bought a Turtle Beach Earforce XL1 for my 360, mostly because it was the cheapest (I think it was $45 when I bought it) model. Depsite the wires, it's given me great sound everytime. Someday I'll look for a similar headset for my PS3.

If have to I will get a wired one. I am trying for wireless though.

I use the logictech offical PS3 headest. I think you can only get it at Best Buy but its really good. Doesn't pick up on surrounding noise.

These might be a little pricey but you can't go wrong with Sennheiser. They are an actual headphone company so it's all about the sound rather than slapping a brand name on some generic 'phones and doubling the price. This is a European site so I have no idea what these cost over here.

Thanks. 130.00 bucks is not bad. I like the look.

Best $130 you'll ever spend.
