It is nice that you included the one metal album I actually listen to, Master of Puppets.  Orion is one of my favourite songs, ever.

That whole album is great. I still have the Tape that I got back in 1986 when it came out.

Master of Puppets was the first cd I bought with my own money, it was back in elementary school and I used allowance money I guess. The Walmart person didn't care that they were selling a cd with the explicit label to a minor so I was able to get it without any problem. I still have that very cd, but it's not in as good of shape as your casette is lol. It's scratched and inside a binder collection now, the jewel case is gone, and the booklet is in a shoebox. I'll never get rid of my very first Master of Puppets, even if it's in bad shape.

I went to the music store at the mall with my Parents. My dad likes Kiss and Van Halen etc. So I had all those albums. Any way we went in and I saw the Tape and had some allowance and got my mom to buy it for me. I  can not believe I have had that tap for 27 years.lol.

Very very nice! Thumbs up for king diamond and Pantera. I prefer Cowboys from Hell, but that was my introductory album so that's probably why. Fucking great list man!

Man I don't know half of these albums.... I fail lol. Embarassed I really like the intro to Killers though. My favorite Maiden album is Somewhere in Time.

Yeah Larry! I may no like Orc vocals but I'm a Metal fan from way back and I love that you (and Blake - but don't tell him. LOL) do this. It lends depth to the site and I love it.

Larry has anybody ever told you that you should be a heavy metal radio DJ or run a radio station? I don't even listen to music on the radio anymore, we have this cool comedy station here in my area of Colorado where they play audio clips of standup comics 24/7 so I listen to that anytime I'm in the car. But as far as music goes radio here is often useless. There's a radio station here that plays death metal for a little while late at night on Saturdays but that's really halfass and it's the only variety they offer and it's only for an hour.

You listen to a huge diverse variety of metal and you are always discovering new bands and showing me new stuff as well as old stuff. Always ready to talk metal. If you ran a radio station that played all metal all the time, old school stuff and new school stuff all mixed together like you do, I'd tune in to that any time, any day of the week.

Thank you, I am very humbled. I have often thought of doing just that.

I'm in the mood for a TL;DR comment here. Apologies.

10. Being from Dallas, and my older brother now living and working in Arlington, plus the fact it's just a great album, I gotta love that at one point in the 90s, this was actually the #1 album/CD. That something this abrasive was able to do so is amazing. "I'm Broken" is my favorite, but "5 Minutes Alone" is great too.

9. I tend to like Exodus a lot, and it's cool that Hammett came from them.

8.I'd be lying if I said I didn't prefer Dickinson, but Paul is great too. Really like "Prowler" from their first album, I think I first found out about it when The Black Tide covered it. People gave that band shit for being so young, but I thought they had talent, honestly.

7. I usually don't like Cannibal Corpse, but you seem to have found an exception. I still can't understand a damn word he's saying, though. I will look up lyric videos and still not hear it in their case. lol

6. That solo was insane. Don't know too much about Testament, but damn. Good one.

5. Favorite from them is "Metal Thrashing Mad," but "Indians," "Caught in a Mosh," and honestly the rap songs I've heard them do are also good. Never liked "Got the Time" though. Don't know why.

4. Only thing I know of Morbid Angel is a relative of a friend came back from active duty and said that was his favorite band. I only met that guy once. Not my style, but I can see why he liked to headbang to it.

3. I have really come to appreciate King Diamond, especially after seeing him live w/ Metallica at Ozzfest 2008. And you gave him the number three spot, so now I pretty much have to buy something from him/his band. lol

2. Can't go wrong here. Like Blake, RTL is my favorite, but they (Kill 'Em All and the trilogy that followed) are all close in quality.

1. I like that they went in a different direction with South of Heaven. I really want to see Slayer live, but maybe not in the front. Just cause I can pass and go beyond the "40 push ups in a row" test doesn't mean I wouldn't get stabbed or my ass kicked in that moshpit. Hatebreed and Hellyeah were enough. lol

Moshpits.... I have lost a tooth and knocked someones tooth out in those things.lol. Now since my heart surgery I would not even attempt it.lol.

I love Puppets, but Justice will always be my favorite Metallica album even though it was horribly produced and the bass was barely audible. Regardless, great list man! I actually own quite a few of these!

I always thought Jason was under used in all their cds. I think they never got over loosing Cliff.

You know, the first time I listened to Master of Puppets, I thought it was great, but didn't see why people were crazy about it. It was only till my last listen that it grew on me and pretty much now I consider it a masterpiece.

As with other Metal masterpieces, I freaking love Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast. I think it's phenomenal.

Number of the Beast is a good album also.

Fantastic picks! All of them. Master Of Puppets is an album every human being should own. Same goes for Killers and Among The Living. These albums you speak of shaped the way I listen to music. I have been a metalhead since I was 10 so that goes without saying! Glad you put in Exodus and King Diamond as well. Legends of metal, both of them.
