Hello Pixlbit! Football season is almost here and I can’t wait to watch my Aztecs, and draft my Fantasy Football team. It’s my third year playing FF, and one of the fun things is making up a name. My first year my team was called “Cromartie’s Other Bastards”, last year it was “Tebowing for PT” and this year’s name will be “Cell Block 81”. If you’re wondering, the player who does no research, and just picks that I think is the best available player.

Speaking of football, Happy Madden Day!  I’m not buying the game until after the Super Bowl, I know the millions…AND MILLIONS (ok not quite) are out there playing right now, so enjoy your new game!

For the past couple of days this has been the go to look.

I went out for CD hunting, and looking for games at the local Thrifts. I didn’t really find any new games, but I did check out the local GameStop and almost bought a couple of games from their 3 for $10 box. They were games that were really more for filling holes in the library than actually playing for me (Army of Two, Killzone 2, and Brink). I left them and maybe someone else will get more enjoyment out of them.

From here I went to the local mom and pop to see what new CDs hit the Buy 10 Get 5 Free $1.99 Section. They just opened so in the store it was me, and older gentlemen who had a stack of records, and the employee shooting the breeze with mall security. This is my favorite time to be in this store because it’s quiet, and the teens looking for band shirts aren’t awake yet.

This is my haul from the mom and pop, and I hit the music section at Barnes & Noble on the way out to my car. One of the CDs I found interesting was this

I don’t buy many Game Soundtracks, but this one looked interesting so I used it as one of my five freebies.

When I opened I saw the gold bottom, and figured it was fake, but it was interesting to look through (the booklet and back card have some water damage). The work put into it is pretty darn good. I can't read any of it but its a nice CD.

Target was next, so I could run some actual errands. It took me close to 30 minutes looking for Fabreeze. Turns out it is right next to toothbrushes, who knew? Thanks to the two nice employees who also had no idea where it was but went looking with me. Before I checked out I made a stop in the Electronic Section (BAD NEWS)

I saw this on their $20 wall. For you gamers who have yet to buy this game, $10 is a STEAL!

Another interesting game I spotted

$40 is a little steep for me, but I do like how they are marketing their game. You get the code for the game, a 2GB novelty USB stick, and stickers. I think if it was $20 I would have given it a chance.

I left this section with stack of new CDs. Thank goodness for sales, gift cards and a Groupon Coupon that made the price of this stack drop. I’ve shifted away from Soundtracks to Pop so Demi Lovato comes into play.

Ok while walking around Target my phone went off…just like every other person in Target because a storm was coming (it wasn’t the screen pictured, but it looked like that and had that awesome Emergency Broadcast System noise)

Yeah that’s what it sounds like when every other iPhone at Target went off at the same time.

Disney Infinity

The current stats. I started trying the toy box option, which is fun. I joked with my cousin that I am going to build Kings Landing…Disney Style.

Nothing but respect for the guys who made Kings Landing…in Minecraft

I finished the story mode for The Incredibles, and Pirates. I really enjoyed Pirates, and the piloting the ship is easily the most fun I’ve had in this game. The setup reminds me of Sid Meier’s Pirates, if it was remade and updated. Navel battles are awesome, and I wish Disney would have made this a stand alone game.

My Pirates figures

I’ve put off Monsters U until the end because it was my least favorite storyline out of the three starters. I really don’t want to play it, but I want to justify my purchase so I need to complete the storyline for it.

I bought the two figures to complete the figure set for the Starter Pack. I picked them up on the last day of the Buy 1 Get 1 50% at Toys R Us. Thank you TRU Gift Card because all I paid was the tax.

While unlocking toys I saw that Disney snuck in one of their other properties in the game. I guess my version of Kings Landing will have an ESPNZone.

Asphalt 8

I wanted to check out the freemium section of the game just to see what they offered.

The lower cars are ok, but HOT DAMN, $50 and $100 for the top classes of cars. I’m sorry Gamesloft but are you insane? I wonder how many parents are going to go nuts when they see that charge on their credit card statement. I enjoy the game, but there is no way I’d drop that kind of money for virtual cars. I’ll grind away and slowly save up in game credit to buy those cars.

Before I end my blog, last night I almost broke Gmail

Apparently sending my brother a couple of albums I ripped raised some warnings. I guess I’ll just use services like Dropbox, Mediafire, and Copy from now on. Sorry Google.

One of my favorite players called it a career.

I liked T-Mac, and I owned his Adidas T-Mac II with the Red White and Blue stripes. Loved those shoes, and I ended up giving them (practically brand new) a couple of years later to a Church.

*Random Tangent: From 2000 to around 2010 I guess I could be considered a causal sneakerhead. I had a bunch of sneakers and I could go two months and not wear the same pair twice. At one point I decided this was nuts…and expensive, so I stopped. I kept the pairs I really liked and I was going to garage sale the rest, but my uncle wanted to donate them to his church.

Well that’s all for now, more later!

Isn't it? Props to those guys who took the time to make that.

I'm working on reviewing Disney Infinity myself.  Might get the Wreck It Ralph figures when they come out.  Maybe.  I put Scrooge's Money Bin in my Toy Box.  Had to fly a helicopter just to get to the top of it!

I remember you saying that, and I can't wait to read it. I want to see how others view this game.

I really should start placing my toys in the toy box. I didn't realize that the money bin is that big. Can you go inside?

Yes you can go inside the Money Bin, but you have to enter from the top.  That's why I needed the helicopter!

That is awesome! Looks like I'm going to add the Money Bin. Thanks for the info!
