Is Nintendo really that BaD? Pondering the fate of the Wii U on a snow/icey day.

First, Lets take a look at the Game Pad.

Yes, it is a very nice idea, but is/was it a really good idea? Consider this, Nintendo has the 3DS XL and now the 2DS, why did they not create cross play for the devices? Sure the screen size is smaller, but I think it would have boosted sales for both systems.

The system itself I have no issue with. I like the design and size.

Trophies.

Now for Trophies, I think Nintendo needs a award system like Xbox and PS, not that I really care about the achievements, but you have to be honest hearing that little sound of achieving one or the other did it for you for a while.

Final thoughts.

I am not trying to slam the Wii U, I really want one, but I want it with an awesome never seen before JRPG.

Later folks!

X! It's going to be that awesome JRPG (if Xenoblade is any indication, at least).

Also, the GamePad is fantastic. Off-TV Play is so damn good. Nintendo needs to better market that piece of equipment, because it is definitely a system seller for a lot of people, especially those that need to share the TV with kids.

If X is anything like Xenoblade Chronicles I shall be forced to sell one of my livers to buy a Wii U. :)

I am still up in the air about it, considering I do not own one. I would like to see the cross play tried  for the 3DS though.

I'm happy with my Wii U, but I'd really like to see Nintendo announce something really cool this year for it. Something that's more exciting than a new DKC or Smash Bros

I agree with that.

I don't regret getting a WiiU, but I have to admit that it spends much of it's time just sitting around gathering dust.

I really do like the off-tv play feature.  I don't mind so much not having cross play with the 3DS (I think dual-screen works well on a handheld, but splitting it up between a one screen in your hand and one on the tv might not work so well), but I really want cross-play/buy with the virtual console games.  I recently spent over $100 on virtual console games on the 3DS.  I really wish I could play them on a bigger screen every now and then, but there's no way I'm going to buy them again.  On the other hand, I bought all the Mega Man games on the WiiU, and sometimes I wish I could play them on a portable, but again there's no way I'm buying the exact same game again.  I think if they allowed this it would be a great selling point for both systems.  Being able to play PS1 games that I had already bought on the PS3 network was one of the reasons that I first bought a vita.

I still want one.  There is a Mario shaped hole in my soul that only a Wii U can possibly fill.  Maybe I shoul djust get Super Mario 3D Land.

Right now, the Wii U is more interesting to me than the PS4 and Xbox One.  That might change in a year or two, but not in the forseeable future for me.

Oh, I agree 100% with that, I would just like to see some changes.

I just wish they would forget about all the gimmicky bullshit. Did we really need a tablet controller? Maybe release some games? My brother gave me a Wii, but I got rid of it because the idiotic motion controls pissed me off. I'm now ready to be flamed into oblivion lol. Foot in Mouth

I like the games I played on Wii U, but they are too few and far between.  IMO, the biggest mistake Nintendo made with Wii U was calling it Wii U.  It's a horrible name, and confusing for casual Nintendo fans.  I would prefer Wii 2 or something like that, but Wii U sounds ridiculous to me.

Mostly holding out for X iself. And the possible Xenoblade Chronicles HD re-release that's merely rumored.
