Happy No Meat Friday Pixlbit! It is 9:36 am in breezy Southern California, and already I miss bacon. Last night it was steak night so I can prepare for this, and today it’s looking like I’m going to hit McDonalds for the Fillet O’Fish (like all the other lazy Catholics) Since it’s Friday, it is time for another edition of Quick Hits with Chris. Today’s topics include, Chris goes nuts with Real Racing 3’s new customizations, new sports uniforms, random find at Walmart, and of course pickups. So let’s get this blog started!

Real Racing 3

Real Racing 3 had an update earlier this week where users can unlock new car customizations ranging from new paint jobs, to vinyls, to lowering and raising your car. Of course these options cost gold coins and they can only be earned either through leveling up, or whipping out that credit card. I spent a lot of time customizing the cars because that is what I find interesting

It seems like the first car I always try to recreate is Brian’s Skyline from 2 Fast 2 Furious

The next car I created was a college themed car

I used elements from their various football helmets for this car.

My final car I created before my tablet needed to be charged was my Alma Mater

That SD logo took forever and dropped my tablet battery from 70% to 17%. As for the game itself, it’s still fun, there was an addition of an Aston Martin group of races which means more cars to buy.

New Uniforms

So the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a new set of uniforms to go along with their updated giant helmet logos. I love Nike, and I think the Seahawks jersey isn’t bad looking, but as a whole Nike messed up the state of Florida’s NFL teams. The Dolphins are bad, these are worst, and what the hell is in the water in Jacksonville?

In time for the World Cup the US National Teams have new uniforms, and they’re not bad. I hope they still keep the Don’t Tread On Me uniforms. Also is it me or does this photo look like Twilight has a sports team.

Random Find At Walmart

While walking around the Walmart because I heard there was a massive Lego Clearance sale, I spent time in the electronics section. Apparently Walmart carries Google Chromecast, which is cool but everything it can do my 360, PS3, little Sony box, and the PC Tower connected to my TV can do as well…but if when I can play my Android games on my TV we’ll get one. Anyways I saw this in the clearance section

Sorry Walmart, there’s no way I’m paying $20 for a memory card. Before I bought that Final Fantasy HDD I would have been all over it, but now I’m good with two memory cards, and I just dump my files on the hard drive.

Pickups!

I don’t know why, but earlier this week I decided to check out Big Lots to see if they added anything new to their 50% off games sale. They did which was surprising so I spent a couple of minutes going through their games on an endcap and I picked out a bunch of the $5 & $10 games that I wanted to play. When it came time to check out the games were ringing up around $2 bucks each so the first batch cost $18

I now have the PS3 versions of these games…and still no PS3 guitar

I passed on the $10 Shinobi at Target a couple of times but for under $3 I can’t complain. I’ve been debating on Hollywood Crimes for a while now because the local Toys R Us has a used copy for $12. Good thing I waited.

I debated on buying more but I was hungry so I left. A couple of days later I went back to see if anything new popped up, and sure enough a couple of new games were added but didn’t have prices. I budgeted them to be at the $18 price point, which surprisingly only one of them was.

Who knew You Don’t Know Jack would be more expensive than Midway Arcade Origins.

Tiger came out to $1.99, which isn’t bad considering I’ll only play a round or two of golf.

I’ve been watching this copy of Bejeweled for at least a month now. I couldn’t justify spending $20 for it, and then it dropped to $10, and I still thought about it, but when it hit $4 and change, it was time to buy.

My first non Lego movie game since Creator on the PC (I’m not counting the Android or iOS games for this). The Cats & Dogs game was a throw in. I might like it, or just give it to my 4-year-old cousin.

This was the only 3DS game I didn’t have from their selection and I can’t complain for $3.75.

In Android and iOS games

I tried this game out because it was reviewed in my Flipboard. I rarely buy Android games because there is so much good free content in the Google Play Store, but something clicked with this game, and I had some left over credit so I bought this game for $2. A quick overview is you are moving through this universe and you shoot metal balls at glass objects around you, and the game ends when you run out of metal balls.

Speaking of freebies I downloaded quite a few yesterday and I will probably talk about them next week along with Smash Hits

As for iOS, I can’t remember if I got it last week and forgot to include it in that QH, but the Apple Store App gave out another free game

I think I already have this for Android, but I’m not going to complain about a freebie game for the iPad.

Music

Goodwill has been decent, and after hearing that a bunch of kids were there buying records I decided to make a stop before heading out for errands.

So I found some Jazz with Maynard Ferguson’s Maynard which is kind of like a Greatest Hits including this song

I think everyone knows or should know this song. Oh the former band nerd is still popping up whenever I find some music

I also found an elementary school’s Christmas album, Poco with a certain future member of the Eagles (I think I’m going through an Eagles phase again), and the Carpenters.

I found another Sousa album, and a couple of Jackson Browne’s albums.

I couldn’t remember if I already own this album (I probably do) so I added it to my pile just in case.

Randoms

While sitting on the couch trying to kill off some phone battery I saw this and I couldn’t stop laughing.

I’ve been walking around with my Big Gameboy so I can earn some coins and maybe add random local folks to my Mii Plaza, and I spotted this

Humble Bundle has another Android Bundle which looks to be pretty good. I already own two of the games, so I’m going to wait a bit to see what other games are added before I donate some cash

Good games, and you can say where your cash goes, so if you have a couple of bucks burning a hole in your pocket, give it to Humble Bundle!

Well my Pixlbit friends, another Quick Hits has come to an end, I still miss bacon, and it’s time for me to edit my pics, and to read your blogs and comments!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

man that cats and dogs game looks horrible!

That culture club record looks awesome!

And $3 for that Shinobi game, that's great.  I really want to play that.

Oh you know it's going to be bad. It screams budget title based off of movie. Hopefully I will be surprised, but I'm not expecting much.

That soccer pic has one distractingly tiny person in it ... who is probably my height in real life and the rest are giants.

I'd love it if that GBA Shinobi I found at my local game store had worked on my player. Stupid DRM.

I need to play You Don't Know Jack on Facebook again.

I had EA Tetris on my phone, but it didn't work that great. May try again.

I actually did not know that jazz song, but for obvious reasons, it reminds me of Cowboy Bebop. It sounds great.

Culture Club, what do I know by them? What was their single?

Already bought Humble 11 Bundle, but that "comes from a bird" thing is funny, is that where you get your bacon from, man? lol

I've asked stupid questions in class before too, can't talk too much, I mean, that's ignorant, but that girl might know other things. lol

I don't understand buying Rock Band games without the instruments, though, if I'm being honest.

That's all I got.

Other Culture Club Hits:

Do You Really Want to Hurt Me

Time (Clock of the Heart)

It's a Miracle

I'll Tumble For Ya.

Pretty much everything on their first album was a hit single. I used to DJ back when that stuff was current and had 12" singles of pretty much all of those tracks, Standard dancefloor stuff.

Heard the first one. Thought that was a single guy singing that and it was a 90s club hit, or was it a cover. Actually, I might have thought that was a Boy George song ...

We have at least "Karma Chameleon" by them, but I'm not sure about the others.

Haha, I think the US National Team is taking down AYSO clubs now. I actually never noticed them until you pointed it out.

That still think that its crap for Nintendo to DRM themselves.

I didn't know Jack was available as a Facebook game.

Yeah buying games without the instruments is odd. I do have this box that converts my PS2 guitar to USB but it rarely works correctly, and I have this odd thing of trying to buy all the Guitar Hero games.

Rangergirl and Mothman  (quick tangent: If you say everyone's Pixlbit's names out loud, it sounds like we are all Super Heroes) named off some good stuff. I think you should have one of your DJ's have a Culture Club hour.

Not Nintendo, I think Sega made that Shinobi's Revenge GBA game I returned.

Culture Club hour ain't gonna happen. lol We've asked them to play more variety during their CL (Classic Hits shifts), and I dunno that I could tolerate a full hour of dance music from the same band when I'm in my office. lol Nothing against them, but damn.

It is funny now that you brought up superhero names. lol

You mentioned Walmart had a lego sale.  What did you find there?  I walk through the lego ailse quite a bit here, but it's never as interesting as Toys R Us.

I think I missed all the Star Wars stuff (not too happy about this). I didn't buy anything but the only things the local Walmart had were the Galaxy Squad sets but there wasn't much of a discount on them. If they dropped I would probably pick up a couple of the sets just for the figures and parts.

I love the Toys R Us selection, but I'm not a fan of their "Lego Tax" where the price is raised $3-5 bucks.

Wow, I didn't know they actually made a videogame based on that terrible Cats & Dogs movie. I'm also wondering why someone would greenlight that, seems like burning a pile of money would be more productive.

Oh it looks bad, I'm waiting for a rainy day to pop that bad boy in and regret dropping 3 bucks.

Was Friday talk about food day and I missed the memo? LOL! I swear yall are not making my dieting easy, lol!

You picked up a set of good deals! I need to go check my big lots and see what they have. Prolly nothing except for the 3DS I can play but still a decent idea to try.

Haha sorry. Food tends to be one of those topics that seems to spread like wildfire.

Thanks! Can't go wrong with some games on the cheap. Never hurts to check out what they have. The local store seemed to restock but I already own the stuff they brought in.
