Most days I am not in a rush to beat a game. Today I played some Fire Emblem Awakening, Uncharted Golden Abyss and Ys Seven. Most my console games I have to wait until my kids go to bed or the oldest is out the house to play.

The other parts of my day is spent with my two girls and playing tea party, Princess, Mermaid, or what ever my 4yr old comes up with. Also doing research for the Star Wars Fanfic I am trying to write. Plus looking at Metal websites like Liquid Metal, Metal Blade, Roadrunner ETC. I feel some days I eat sleep and breath Metal.  I know allot of people in Metal bands and have hung out with a Metal god ( Zakk Wylde). I wear mostly black T-Shirts of verious Metal Bands, Slayer, Job for Cowboy, Children Of Bodom, Six feet Under, Tool, Motogrator, Blood Runs Black, Cradle Of Filth, Pantera ETC. I read Fangoria Magazine, Retro gaming , Gorezone, Decibel, Make and Linux Magazines.

After 30 some years of gaming and Metal/Punk I think I am just getting started.

You're pretty fuckin rad is what you are Larry, roll credits lol. I need some more band shirts to wear around. I use to buy a lot but now I don't and over time the majority of them fell apart and I'm left with only a couple wearable band shirts. A few Iron Maiden ones still in decent shape, an Avenged Sevenfold one, Dropkick Murphys, and a Nightwish one.

It must be nice to be retired. I have a couple of metal shirts as well. Like 5 Iron Maiden shirts lol. It's hard for me to imagine a metal head playing Princess and Mermaid though. I wonder if your girls are gonna listen to metal when they grow up. Undecided

They already do LOL. Not any of the real harsh stuff mostly the basic stuff. You know  to get them started LOL.

Metal shirts I have are just 3 Inches of Blood (Fire Up the Blades art on front, bullseye on back) and Children of Bodom Blooddrunk design from Gigantour. I wish I had more like you.

You hung out with Zakk Wylde?! Nice! He's always seemed like a cool guy, loved his national anthem cover in 07 (and I believe 08 as well, either way those were Ozzfests I went to). That's very cool.

I don't know if you knew of gamesmeetmetal.com, but it's a cool blog a former 1upper (riffcompelsme) started I used to help him with. We got a lot of stuff from Roadrunner, might be something you'd like.

Retirement sounds nice, but it is kind of funny a metalhead playing mermaid. haha but that just means you're a good dad. Maybe play Mermaider next time you do it. Laughing lol But hey, you've earned it (retirement)!

LOL. Yea, some Metalocalypse while playing Mermaid.

Yeah, I put a picture of me with Zakk on 1up a few months back. He is cool as hell. We went on his tour bus hung out a bit and hung out at the Hotel Bar.

I will check out that site now that I know about it. Thanks.

I think it's awesome you have tea parties with your little ones. Do you listen to metal while sipping tea?

I do to. I am just glad I can be here for them.

Ys Seven is a really great game. I think it's the definitive Ys. Don't attack me Ys fans, but it's true. The way the characters roll across the screen and evade attacks makes the game move along faster.

I am having fun with it. I can hardly wait until the Ys game for the Vita to come out.

you had me at "I mostly wear black t-shirts...."

I wish there was kids in my life.  I only see my nephews like twice a year. I would love to play tea party or gijoe or something with kids, not to mention video games.

I help my oldest get past some parts in games she has trouble with. She beat a My little Pony game last year, the credit were rolling and she asked me what was wrong with the game? I said you beat it. She got a sad look on her face and said I can not play it anymore LOL. I said you can still play it. She gave me a big hug and said thank you daddy. She is sharpe.

Hey,I like your taste in metal. And in games, too. I'm hoping that when I retire I will be able to do a lot of gaming. My collection should be enormous by then! That is so cool you hung out with Zakk Wylde. He seems like a guy with a great sense of humor. Someone who loves his life and what he does. Which is kick some serious ass! Seen him live with BLS and even back when he was with Ozzy. I saw him on That Metal Show once. He was messing with Eddie Trunk and the guys,it was hysterical.

Zakk is as real as it gets. He is a very cool person.

Retired!? Color me jealous. However, it's totally awesome that you can be home with your girls. Also metal is great and I'm glad you do those Metal Monday blogs - I need to start getting into some new stuff and that should definitely help.

I've got two boys (a 2 year old and a 2 month old) - Chessa is a stay-at-home mom right now, which I'm thankful for, but it sure would be nice for me to have some more time with them. Maybe if PixlBit really starts raking in cash I'll be able to work out of the house - that would be all sorts of fantastic.

Nick, thank you for having a site where I can do Metal Mondays.

I retired medically two years ago from the Army. I retired last July medically from my Federal job. I had a aortic aneurysm and could not do my job. Well in September I had to under go open heart surgery to repair the aneurysm before it burst and to replace my aortic valve because it was barely working. Little did I know I was dying and did not know it. Now I am limited to what type of work I can do.

My wife is a stay at home mom also. It was much cheaper then daycare. Now she has some more help with me at home. We start homeschool for our oldest this year, so I really am lucky to be home for that.

Thanks again Nick. You have a great site and staff.

Wow... that sucks man. Glad to hear that you caught that issue before it really ended poorly. Heart problems are scary stuff, my family has some bad history with them, so I'm hoping I'm not doomed for the same fate.

On a brighter note, thanks on the site, glad to have you here!
