Come and see what I made! (sort of...)

So I recently decided to try making music on my computer, and this is the first result. It's a remake of a battle theme from a GBC JRPG called Lufia: The Legend Returns.

There's a few things I noticed after I posted it, namely brief error in the bass line in one section (it's not horrible, but it just sounds a little off) and I think I need to work a little more on the volume levels in places. It's also in stereo and I did use some panning tricks, so headphones are recommended.

Also, for reference, here's the original.

I honestly still prefer the original version, but this was a great exercise and I had a ton of fun doing it. I'm sure I'll do more stuff like this on the future. Anyway, I welcome any critical comments, tips, tricks, anything to help.

I used LMMS to compose, Audacity to loop, and Windows Media Player to put the YouTube video together. Also, thanks to Matt Snee for providing some great tips.

sound great man.  Sounds professional, like it comes from a real game maybe from the PSX era or something.  It sounds a lot like the original, but a little more modern and less chip tuney.

Did you try out that Native Instruments software I recommended?

Not on this song, It's actually been downloading for about an hour now. I feel like I'm back in the 90's again. Of course it is over 2 gigs and free so I don't really mind. All the sounds except for the bell sound game with LMMS. I got the bell as a sample from Sound Bible. LMMS is really good about using samples.
