Well Happy Friday good people of the Pixlbitland! I hope everyone is doing well, and looking forward to the weekend. I’m excited because College Football is officially back! It started with last week’s game, but over the past couple of days it has been non stop college football, and this Saturday my Aztecs take on Northern Arizona. Here’s to another year where the football team goes bowling, Basketball makes the NCAA Tourney, and Baseball goes back to the post season.

I’m going to be trying to watch as many games as possible but I will be busy on Saturday. I have a ton of stuff to do before I leave the state for a week

Since I will be traveling this is my setup. I have a ton of stuff to do on the tablets, and laptop, as well as a bunch of games, I’m bringing a number of games for the Vita, and 3DS, and the iPod is always packed full of music and podcasts. I tend to overpack when it comes to techy stuff, and most likely I will be sleeping on the plane and not taking advantage of any of this stuff.

There’s A New 3DS and 3DS XL

So early this morning (and by early I mean 3 am. I thought it was 5am) I was wide-awake and watched some Simpsons and GI Joe while reading Twitter. I caught this article on The Next Web

I have to say first impressions are the added button is useless, especially if it’s for a game I probably won’t be picking up. I am intrigued if the quality of the handheld is better than my current setup, and if that will be reason enough to upgrade.

Playing Some Older Tablet Games

I’ve jumped back into some tablet games I haven’t touched in a while. While waiting for things to be built in Star Wars Commander or having things being forged in Plundernauts I went back to a couple of old staples of my mobile gaming

Temple Run – iPad Air/Android

I’m back into my rhythm of hitting at least a million per run in this game. I’ve found to enjoy this version much more than the other Temple Run games. I’m just building up my coins on both tablets.

Asphalt 8 – Android

It’s been awhile since I fired this up, but yesterday there was a big update where they developers added some new tracks and changed the game icon. I started playing it again and can’t stop. Playing this game on the 7” Nexus 7 is easier to play for long periods over the bigger iPad (also I spent .99 cents on the game when it was released, and bought a car pack a year later).

This was me before my alarm went off.

Angry Birds Go! – iPad Air

I’m still playing this game, and I unlocked the three birds in the football helmet so I can use their car. The downside is I constantly have to scan my toy car in order to use it in game. There is one thing I hate and that is every so often the game will crash and use one of my cupcakes (the stamina in the game), which sucks but what can you do?

Pickups!

Games

So Humble Bundle updated their Sega Mobile Bundle with the added games

Sonic CD and Super Monkey Ball 2! I do own a Sega CD but it didn’t come with the pre packaged games, and the handful of games I do have for the Sega CD are fighting games and Football, so I am excited to finally give Sonic CD a go. I’ve never played this version of Monkey Ball, so hopefully it’s a fun game. I’m happy they also included the Live Wallpaper, but I don’t use Live Wallpapers in my Android setup.

Remember the GameStop where the guy was giving me attitude because I wouldn’t buy Mario Kart 7? Well now he ignores me, which is completely fine. I was there to check out the 3DS and Vita games and I couldn’t find anything new on the Vita, but I found some interesting games on the cheap

I’m happy I didn’t drop $20 on Pilotwings at Toys R Us now, and the Doctor Lautrec looks like a Professor Layton Clone. While standing in line I talked to three (yes three employees) who were walking around assisting folks. One of the employees was asking me questions on games and she brought up Destiny, which I completely forgot I preordered. She asked why I didn’t get it on the PS4, and I said I’m waiting for something really good to come out before making the jump.

Music

Oh the shame is real. Unlike her first single, and her first album, this CD didn’t come with a fold out poster.

This are the two songs that have been on repeat for the past couple of days…did I mention the shame?

There is currently a Groupon for iTunes where a $15 code is $10 bucks. I bought this so when I Shazam a random song, I’ll have this credit to use.

This was free from the Google Play Store. I already own the physical album, but I downloaded it anyways and I now have it on my Google Play Library.

So after reading Nicoleb1989’s posts about Lootcrate, and a talk with one of my friends who was also on the fence, we decided to give this service a try. They had their older crates on sale and I bought one for $20 after shipping

That’s the package!

We both went with the Transformers box because of the shirt

I do like the quality of the shirt, and it fits nicely. My friend opted with the six-month membership, and I decided to pick and choose which box I want. I also got one of these

In the box there was also some random little items, and candy (I tried one piece and then tossed the rest)

Overall the $13 and $7 shipping is worth it for the shirt, and the other stuff is pure bonus for folks like me who don’t collect these figures. Check them out!

Well Pixlbit I think we shall end this latest edition here. You folks have a safe holiday weekend (if you’re outside the USA, take Monday off too!)

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Go for it man! I'm digging the Loot Crate. This month is supposed to have some stuff from Star Wars, Star Trek, and Firefly so naturally I'm all over it.

I'm still hummin' and hawwin' about the mobile bundle. These may be really good games but I'm not sure I'm going to like touch controlling them.

That was such a fun Sega Mobile bundle. I think I played more of Virtua Tennis, and I was saving Sonic CD for the airplane but completely forgot about it. This weekend I'll give it a spin.

I wound up buying it. I have only tried a couple of the games Sonic racing (I hate the steering, just can't get the hang of it) and Chu Chu Rocket which I have for my Dreamcast.

I might pick up the new Android bundle too if only for Horn and maybe Sorcery! What's 4 bucks after all?

The latest bundle looks good, but it's not for me. I have Color Zen on the iPad and that's a lot of fun (it was one of the games I played while sitting in the airport)

i'm glad I waited to buy an XL.  Now I can buy a "Super 3DS".

That's what they should've called it, "The Super 3DS" not the "New 3DS".

Super DS is such a better name. I think I'm going to wait to see what kind of new games they're going to release for it, and if it's worth me "upgrading" to this new handheld.

I was planning to save up for the Zelda 3DSXL but with this announcement aswell as the Xenoblade port, i'll have to save for longer.

I saw that Xenoblade on the Wii is going for a nice chunk of change at the local GameStop. If the announcement is really the Wii version it's good to see fans of it will be able to have a portable version. I saw some new GameStop Exclusives of a couple of themed 3DS XL's and I'm digging the NES one, but if it's not the new version I think I'll skip it.

I've only played angry birds once or twice. But it was actually more addicting than I thought it would be!

Angry Birds...man you say you're going to play one level and 30 minutes later you're still saying the same thing.
