Well Happy Halloween Pixlbiticans or as I am calling it Free Candy Friday! There isn’t a better way to start the weekend by dressing up, begging for candy, and trying to find that one house that gave out full size candy bars. I grew up in a farming town, so there wasn’t a lot rich folks, but I do miss this lady’s house where she made popcorn balls. That was freaking awesome. It’s a shame you couldn’t do that now. Oh there was this one house that gave pomegranates which was cool, but I had no idea what those were, but I got one anyways because it was free and added to the bag of goodies.

So tonight I am handing out candy, and because it’s a tradition this year I am picking between these two Cowboys jerseys to wear

The Moose or Troy Aikman. I think I wore Dat Nguyen’s jersey last year

I should make it interesting and wear my Joey Galloway Cowboys jersey just to see the puzzled faces on some of the parents

Anyways since it is Halloween I thought I’d share my candy rules:

  1. Always wait for the Trick or Treat
  2. Kids who put some effort in their costume will get extra candy
  3. If your age ends in teen, you can buy your own candy
  4. If you are an infant you don’t need candy, and we all know the parent is going to eat it
  5. There’s always that one little kid who knocks, walks right past you and then says Trick or Treat. They get extra candy because they’re funny
  6. If they make fun of the Cowboys jersey they get one small piece…while their friend gets extra candy and they see it
  7. Always buy candy you like. Last year I had no kids visit (thank goodness) so I had a ton of Swedish Fish, and Kit Kat bars. My cousin’s kid made out like a bandit a week later.

So it is time for another Quick Hits with Chris

Walter the Pumpkin

A couple of days ago I carved a pumpkin to look like Lego Iron Man. Well this morning, Walter’s side started to cave in, and inside there was some fur. It was time to retire Walter to the trash. We had a fun couple of days, but he was getting a little gross.

Stand Up Comedy on Netflix

This has been my thing for the past couple of weeks. Before I call it a night I’ll watch random stand up acts while reading on the iPad/attacking other bases on Star Wars Commander.

Stuff on TV

While picking up lunch my friend told me to check out ESPN. Since I was at the local KFC (why doesn’t KFC have their hot wings ready at all times) I couldn’t but after he told me what was going on I remembered that I could stream ESPN on my phone I saw the rundown

And if you look at the topic list I saw

Yup ESPN is trolling the folks in Cleveland.

Random StreetPass

This appeared on my 3DS XL yesterday. He has gold pants. I now want gold pants. After seeing this little guy appear in the Mii Plaza, I went on a mini roll of taking down four puzzles in Picross 3D. I like to call it good luck…did I mention I think my Mii should have gold pants?

Star Wars Commander Zombie Storm Troopers

So the newest special missions on Star Wars Commander is zombie themed. As you may know I think the whole zombie craze is stupid, but people dig it, so more power to them. Anyways I’ve played a couple of missions and they are fun. I’m only using the heavy gun Storm troopers, with the Royal Guard as my hero figure, and this setup seems to be working for the early missions. I’m assuming at some point I will need to start deploying tanks, but for now, this setup works.

Stuff I’m Reading

I’m reading the same book…maybe if I actually read some of it I’ll move on to a new page.

Pickups!

Games

I couldn’t find anything good in terms of Fake Lego, and other Lego Lady had some stuff but it was mixed with some K’nex and other stuff that wasn’t worth sorting through for $5. There was one vendor who I have had some good luck with, and they had some new stock. I picked up a couple of games

Discs are clean, and both cases are in great shape. It’s a shame that Project Sylpheed doesn’t have the shiny cover like the PS2 games. Monaco Grand Prix was a new game that she had and was in better shape than the others in her selection. I guess I've been on the lookout for new Dreamcast stuff, especially now that I got the dang thing hooked up to the TV. I think I saw something like 250 North American games in the Dreamcast library so I figured why not casually try and complete the collection. I currently have 45, why not give it a go?

After my trip to the Swapmeet I went to the local GameStop to pick up the Pokemon special character card

I think I should have picked up two, just in case I can have one on each version of Pokemon. I might hit the GameStop tomorrow and get another card. So while roaming around I found a couple of games

Bought Conduit 2 Limited Edition and Deathsmiles. Deathsmiles also came with a soundtrack, which is a pleasant surprise. I need to get going on playing through some of the Wii games I already own. I added them to the Wii external hard drive but I’ll play maybe one or two levels and jump to another game.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago but forgot to share it

I found it at a local Thrift Store in the CD section. I went there last week and they had a bunch of PC games. I thought about picking them up just to add to the library of older PC games on my PC laptop. If they’re a buck I’ll probably pick them up.

Music

Yes I bought Taylor Swift. It isn’t a bad pop album that isn’t trying to be a Country Album. I also picked up 2 Chainz B.O.A.T.S. II Deluxe Edition

I bought the mp3 version awhile back but I can’t complain over a physical Deluxe Edition for $4 bucks. As for the Taylor Swift album, the only reason why it’s a deluxe version is because it comes with a couple of special tracks and

Photos of Taylor. Yeah those are staying in the case.

My trip yesterday to Target I found a new CD in the clearance pile

The local Target started downsizing the CD section, which is sad but random CDs are starting to pop up in the clearance section.

For my thrift store finds these were $1.50 each

The Killers was still sealed. I was more excited over the Jazz CD.

Bought Nellyville just for the single Dilemma with Kelly Rowland.

This was my song during my summer school class at SDSU. Once class was over I would drive all around San Diego just exploring and had this song on replay.

At another thrift store I bought these albums for $2.00 each

Yeah I like to blame my parents for the Engelbert Humperdinck in my library. After The Lovin’ is catchy

I found some vinyl at a third thrift store that moved their albums to the book section (this store used to be a hoarders dream) There are two albums and a couple of 12” singles

Nothing too fancy but they’re fun to have.

For the digital stuff, I purchased the latest from Danity Kane.

Remember when Puffy had his making the band show? Well these are the girls that are left after they got together, released some decent pop music, broke up, got back together after a couple of years, and then broke up after a show.

Some freebies from Google Play

I know who Deadmau5 is but I never really sat down and listened to the music. Well I don’t have an excuse now because the album is free

Google Play also released a bunch of good classic stuff for free. Again you Android people jump on this and add it to your libraries. Heck anyone with a Gmail account, go get these tracks!

The final pickup for this week isn’t for me

Its for the little freeloaders that show up, dressed funny, and expect something good.

Well Pixlbit it has been fun, but it is my weekend and I think it is a good time to fire up the Dreamcast, and make some progress in my game…or attack a base in Star Wars Commander.

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I'd pick Aikman cause I know him, but Joey Galloway is also a good choice for the excellent first name.

Nice list of rules. I'd add burning a fake bird in effigy for any kids walking by in Phili jerseys Laughing

What stand up comics have you been watching? Do they wear gold pants? Zombies should wear gold pants.

Lol I saw the WWE edition of Weakest Link on YouTube a while back.

I don't mind TSwizzle, but 2Chainz? Get some taste, man! I actually think the whole 80s polaroids thing is kinda cool though. It does make me sad she was born only a year before me and is so much more successful.

I love both The Killers - who I saw live in Dallas - and Nelly, and for me "Dilemma" was a high school jam along with some other Nelly stuff.

LOL Limp Bizkit. Can't lie, I still like a few of their older singles despite all the shit they get now.

Thanks for the heads up on the Google Play stuff once again! Now time to buy my own candy. Mmm Reese's.

Ahh Joey Galloway, I think the best use of his jersey was a Seahawk fan who changed his jersey to "Go away" while they were in SD playing the Chargers.

I like the new rule. We don't see many Phily fans here and Raiders fan doesn't talk right now because they're going for the perfect winless season.

As for comics, I rewatched Aziz Ansari (my brother bought his first special, shared it with me and it was on Netflix). I also checked out John Mulaney, Anjelah Johnson, Russell Peters, Mike Birbiglia, Iliza Shlesinger, Dan Cummings, Chelsea Handler and Jay Mohr (HEY MAN! love his sports radio show). The only ones that were hit and miss was Mulaney and Chelsea Handler's shows.

Yeah 2 Chainz is terrible and the only reason why I bought it was to replace the mp3 copy I bought a while ago. This is a deluxe version so it replaces the regular version I have. The only thing I like about him is when he says his own name.

I miss peanut butter, and peanut butter candy. I would love to eat a peanut butter cup but the trip to the ER just isn't worth it. Damn you allergy!

I dug that show. It was like a team version of Jeopardy.

Went to my new local Goodwill thrift store but found a whole lotta nuttin'.

My once goldmine of a Goodwill is now a whole lotta nuttin' as well. I think the local stores are shipping out the better stuff to the auction site which freaking sucks! Good thing the other thrifts in the area still sell CDs, and some over priced games.

I heard on Wired's Game/Life Podcast that Goodwill now has a retro video game outlet somewhere in North Carolina.

Damn that's probably where all my game finds probably ended up. Goodwill was freaking awesome for a couple of years. Nothing but CDs, games, and jerseys.

Yea, I went to two of them last week and only saw GUN Showdown for PSP. Almost bought it, but I played it long time ago and didn't like the controls. Love GUN on 360 though.

Thanks, I haven't listened to a lot of either but when you spot familiar names on vinyl, I'll take the chance especially for a $1 each.
