Happy Tuesday Pixlbiticans, and Turkey Day is only a couple of days away! Because of this I might only do one blog this week because, well let’s face it there is going to be a lot of food and I want to eat, sit in front of the television, and maybe enjoy a couple of power naps. Hey everyone outside of the US, go ahead and celebrate too. Eat something with turkey, put a buckle on your hat, and think about the stuff you are thankful for. Speaking of, I am thankful to have a little piece of the Internet like Pixlbit to write all my randoms and share common hobbies (and pick up some new ones) with you good people. There are a ton of good folks here who have different opinions, and thoughts I wouldn’t have but that’s the beauty of spots like this. We all have our views and nobody is wrong (unless you hate the Yogurtland Rockpop flavor. You’re just a terrible human being Tongue Out ) and because of this I thank you good folks for making this little piece of the Internet warm and cozy!

Ok so enough of the warm and cozy vibes, let’s start this special day one collector’s metal case edition of Quick Hits! Sunday I started out the morning with a trip to the grocery store and started training for the festivities on Thursday

Yes the Whipped Cream pie with some pumpkin flavoring. I believe this is how George Washingston started out his day, and you can’t go against the GW, right?

Chris Watches Sports

As much as I love the Cowboys, this was just FREAKING AWESOME

It happened against the Cowboys and I ain’t even mad.

The Kanye West Shrug. Props to Odell, and you knew he was going to do something big if one of the keys to winning was stopping him, and NBC kept showing him snagging balls with one hand. I can't complain because the Cowboys won. Random observation, on the wall behind the end zone there is a sign that says "New York Football Giants." How many teams named "Giants" are left are left in New York? Apparently they still claim the San Francisco Giants.

Last night the 15th Ranked Aztec Basketball Team took on long time rival BYU. There is a lot of hatred, especially since there have been bad officiating calls that always go against the Aztecs, especially during a football game where the replay official was a BYU grad, and he “missed” a call. Well last night the game was physical and there were bad calls but this time it went against BYU. Reading their fans comments about it is comedy.

Chris Plays Some Games

So I’ve been playing a bit of MyCareer on NBA 2K14, and when I went to fire it up, I got a message saying I needed to be connected to a server. This was easy to bypass the first couple of times but now it seems to be a need to play this. Seriously why do I need to be connected to servers to play an offline portion of a game? What’s the point of buying these games if I can’t play the game modes offered where I don’t play online?

Another game I played is on the iPad and it was the one that was showcased when the new iPhone 6’s were announced

I only played through part of the tutorial and its ok, but not the kind of game I would sink hours into. Sorry Apple.

The two-week tournament is finally over on Star Wars Commander. It was fun the first week but got old because I would always check on my base. Anyways I finished in the third league but missed out on the Storm Trooper on the ATV. Oh well, I used my credits on buying ore and Empire Credits. If everything were upgraded to Level 7, I wouldn’t have a problem, but since everything is either level 5 or 6, I took my share of attacks. It happens.

There Is A 3DS Exploit

Remember when the PSP had an exploit with some random racing video game where you could install old school emulators and homebrew? Yeah that was fun (the homemade Geometry Wars took the bulk of my time). Anyways some guys found one through this game

See it pays to buy super random cheap Big Lots games. I saw that GameStop decided to take advantage of this

Yeah $20 new and $40 without the GS Card is insane.

As for the exploit, I'm impressed these guys found it through such an obscure game.

Chris Walks Around

To mix up my treadmill time, I sometimes walk around the shopping center by the house because I get to look at other things, and besides its fun to window shop. Before hitting the local Swapmeet I walked around Marshall’s and saw a couple of cool things

High School Chris would have been all over Shaq Pump’s, especially for $40 bucks. I’m not a fan of Reebok anymore but damn if they were not Lakers colors I would have jumped on it today.

So I live in an area where a lot of Canadians spend their winters because you can wear shorts in December. There was a big display where there was nothing but various Canadian NHL teams gear

I would have bought an Ottawa Senators jersey if they had them. I like to imagine somewhere in Winnipeg there is a Jets fan wondering why his store carries Anaheim Ducks jerseys and took a picture of it for his blog.

Speaking of the Ducks I saw this on Instagram

Wild Wing is a scary Santa.

Pickups!

Games

So the Weekend Swapmeet paid off! I ended up going a half hour earlier because of the time change and it turns out the usual vendors also did the same thing. I still avoid the video game resellers who think sun-faded copies of Conan on the PS3 should be $30, and hit the usual family vendors.

This one vendor who sells everything has a portion of a table set up with random games had a copy of Tao Feng for the X-Box. I always wanted it but when I checked the game, it was scratched to hell. Behind it was this game

No scratch, had the manual, and was a game I didn’t have. It was $5, which seems to be the lower end of what PS2 games go for here.

I went looking for the Lego Lady and the Fake Lego Lady who always seem to be next to each other, but they didn’t have anything that jumped out, and I found a new random video game vendor that was maybe two stalls down from them. He was setting up but had his Playstation stuff out. I spotted some items and ended up buying these games for $20

The Dreamcast and Playstation games were $5 each and I offered $20 for the three. He was a cool guy and I think I found another favorite vendor. Next time I will ask him how much his Guitar Hero controllers are, and hopefully they are for the PS3.

After my trip to the Swapmeet I visited the favorite GameStop to walk around and see if they had any new items. I found a couple of items, one in the relocated Vita section and the other in the pile of stuff that they want to move.

Remember this beauty when the Ouya was announced? Well this was in the pile of stuff for $16 and an extra controller was $10. Apparently it was underpowered and didn’t connect to the Google Play Store. I thought about it, but I don’t know if I want to go searching for tutorials on workarounds so I passed. If the Ouya dropped to that price I would jump on it in a heartbeat.

Anyways going back to what I bought I picked up this game because of a YouTube review.

Based on the box art for Freedom Wars I wouldn’t have purchased this game but after watching the review, it sounds like a game worth trying. I have a week to return it but so far I am enjoying what little of the game I played.

In that pile of stuff GameStop wants to get rid of I found this little beauty because I’m a sucker for random fishing games

It even comes with a plastic fishing pole that turns your Wiimote and Nunchuk into a rod and reel! I’m not going to lie, I haven’t played this game yet, but I quickly assembled it just to try it out. Later on today I will copy the game to my Wii hard drive and play it.

Music

I didn’t know Paramore rereleased their self-titled album with a whole new group of songs and called it a Deluxe Edition, which seems to be only available on the iTunes Store. I’ll pick up an iTunes Card later on today so I can add this new version of an album I already own just for the 17 “new” songs.

Toys

There is a lady and her kids who sell Action Figures, different kinds and she had the old school Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that I should have bought but passed. Anyways she was setting up and I thought I’d take a quick look before leaving the Swapmeet. She had this figure for $1

I now have the Space Jam Charles Barkley! He’s missing Wile E Coyote, and some other stuff but its all good. I’ll add him to my Shaq Attaq figures and random McFarlane Sports figures.

Ok Pixlbit this is where we end our little chat for this week. I think I might have a Thanksgiving recap on Friday, but I will be back a little later to read the blogs I have missed and haven’t replied to. I need to run some errands for Turkey Day! Everyone needs to try the Whipped Cream pie flavored with Pumpkin!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Oh yeah,. food food food! Bring on ALL THE FOOD!

I'm thankful for you bringing a little diversity to the community by talking about your love of reality TV of all things and being big on tablet gaming.

I wasn't mad about the Odell thing either. I might have been mad at Brandon Carr for making him look extra awesome due to the pass interference, but then we won.

What all does the Cubic Ninja exploit run? Only older games or other 3DS titles?

And I need some Dallas Stars gear, but given their record this season I think I'd want a generic jersey. Or a Modano.

I want to see Space Barkley fishing on a Ouya game. I was listening to NPR yesterday and they were playing a game with Hannibal the comedian asking some of the questions where contestants had to guess Shaq's punny job title with his name in it based on the job description. So like "a person who puts items on shelves in a grocery store" would be a Shaqer (stocker) etc. Fun times.

Thanks man!

Yeah the exploit runs SNES, Game Boy emulators and roms, and it has its own version of Minecraft. I still don't get that game but I get why kids go nuts over it.

Always check the local Ross/Marhsalls. At times they will carry home town stuff or at least teams from the state, and it is cheap. There is always Raiders and Chargers stuff here, and for some odd reason Bengals and Cardinals jerseys started showing up (there goes my humble brag about being the only guy in California with an Arizona Cardinals jersey)

I almost bought an Ouya because Target dropped them to $60. Still a bit too high so I will continue the waiting game.

I was looking at a Packers Thanksgiving beanie yesterday on Cyber Monday, but with shipping it still would have cost about $30, so I decided I'd just wait and be happy with my Packers sweater. They sell Packers t-shirts for Packers fans in Texas, but the look I want is my Cowboys hoodie (Christmas gift from older brother) and a Packers beanie.

First though, I need Rangers/Stars stuff,so I'll look into Ross and Marshall's. Thanks!

Freedom Wars looks neato. I need more games for my Vita.

I'm digging the game. The only problem is that I can't find my cable to charge my Vita or else I'd be deeper into it.

the Pump!!!  I haven't thought of those in years.  My god, will people fall for the lamest gimmicks.

Of course, when I was a kid, I rocked "Roos", which were sneakers with pockets.  Tongue Out

Heck yeah the Roos! I think I had the generic Payless versions as a kid because I wanted to put my lunch money in my shoes.

I think the Pump on it now is just for show. I tried using it when I was Face Timing with my brother but it didn't feel any different (maybe I was doing it wrong Haha)
