New Arcade in My Area, Round 1

Posted on 03/08/2017 at 11:42 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Round 1...FIGHT! (that's what I heard reading the title)

Last arcade I stepped foot in was the little one on the cruise ship this past summer. It has been decades since I've seen an actual arcade in a mall, and I miss the sounds and blinking lights. Now the closest thing I've seen is a Dave & Busters.

This place sounds like fun but yeah it sounds like its missing that old school charm and all the games seem to be geared towards an experience than just the usual hitting buttons and moving a joystick.

Wow, Baylor has a lot more problems on its plate than a prof's sexual preference.

Interesting answers by the students in your class. I would have expected more outrage. I agree about the smells coming from the phone.

I think the one I have is one from one of the Capt. Kirk movies. I know its not the TV show because the shape is more round. I look for it later on tonight.

I always found that achievement to be interesting especially after playing through the game because you feel like you've discovered everything. Heck a couple of days ago while playing Pre-Sequel I don't know where I went but I discovered a new place.

Congrats on the Vita! They are a blast but finding games for them now is getting tough but at least there's Amazon. I hate that about stores with terrible customer service. If I ask about a product just check your inventory, don't give info about other products you're trying to push. Are you getting a 3DS XL too? I saw a couple of new versions and for some reason I like the Galaxy cover.

Speaking of the Switch, waiting a bit is always good because then you get more content in the library, you can see the good and bad from other's experiences, and the best part is they will be available and hopefully be on sale. The one thing I did do if I ever get a Switch is reserve my gamer name on their site. I saw an article that said I had to even though I already have a Nintendo account, so I went ahead and reserved my current Nintendo name just in case.

I think it would be interesting for a game like mentioned to be created but in this current time of boycott everything, it wouldn't get made because its such a hot potato of a subject. Society has gotten to the point where if you don't agree with something you shout it down all while claiming first amendment rights, and then the hysteria of boycotts.

I don't know if you're going to bring this topic up in your class but I'm interested to hear what today's college kids have to say on the topic.

Yes Origin. Funny how I couldn't think of the name yet the Origin icon is on my laptop tool bar. The only drawback with that service is that so far there isn't enough content.

Shame about PS Now. They have the library that would make it worth it to have a subscription.

My big fear with digital is companies screwing with licenses. At least with physical you own a copy of a game.

My terrible wording strikes again. Amazon wants people to spend $25 before buying certain albums at $3-4 bucks. It's insane, but what can you do other than visit another site for CDs.

Maybe I should start listening to Adam and Dr. Drew again. I stopped because at the time I was already listening to the main show, Ace on the House, and Adam and Dr. Drew.

I'm saving the cops stuff for the end of the game. I think you can play as cops in NFS Rivals, the always online game. I stuck with the racer portion of the game. The game is actually fun because you get chased through out the world even when you're trying to complete missions, but you can bank your progress when you get close to a base.

Hot Shots Tennis was the best. I played a lot of it on the PSP. The Hot Shots series was just a lot of fun.

I think other than the GBA Tomb Raider there was one for that failed phone/handheld gaming system. The N-Gage. That's the name of the system.

From what I remember from the older TR games is that there might have been more puzzle elements but I think that was meant to slow down you progression in the game. The current series seems to have a good mix of puzzles as well as side missions. What I like about the new games is that you don't get weapons right away and I don't have to search for health packs when I get injured.
