Nice picks. I'd add Actraiser's intro as well.

This was also my first Uncharted and first Vita game. I liked it; it looked great, the writing and cut scenes were well done. The game went out of its way to show off Vita features which at times felt like it was a tech demo rather than something that belonged but that's a minor gripe. But it did serve as my entry into the series and in this past month, I've played all of the PS3 Uncharteds.
Sorry to hear about your Kindle Fire but you made the best out of the situation. I myself have a Nook Color and I hope nothing bad happens to it.
Excellent write-up. This series got me into RPGs and not when I was younger but at 27. The Retronauts episode that focused on this series really inspired me to check the series out and I'm glad I did.
I've used Gamefly off and on in the past 2 years. I would keep a membership around 3-4 months and then stop. During that time, I'd buy more used games from their store than make use of any rental copies. Getting a new or recent game is damned near impossible, however. As far as shipping speeds go, I'd say it varied. Sometimes it was a few days, others it would be a week. I don't hate the service nor do I love it (when it comes to rentals, at least), but I don't feel strongly about renewing a membership with them anytime soon.
Oddly enough, AC3 has its fans. Enough people picked that as the best PS3 game on PSN last week. I guess walking/running into cutscenes is a popular pastime these days.
Yeah, enjoyment of the game really helps if you're into the source material.
I've always have this problem. My issue is wanting to use my spare time for other interests (watching films/tv, reading) so I try to balance time for all of those interests. Some days I reserve just for gaming, others for watching tv, others for reading.
These damn recent game sales aren't helping either. I just bought Killzone 2 & 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4 for $30. When will I get to them? Who the hell knows...
Good write-up on the PS4. I've never been an early adopter for any console but reading something like this could make me want one.
BTW, somehow when I clicked the link to follow you, it had me follow you twice. Don't know how that happened.
Welcome! And I agree that Xenoblade was well worth wanting.
