Rumor: Wii U App Store for Both Console and Controller

Posted on 01/03/2012 at 04:45 PM | Filed Under News

Possibly, but all of this information is still rumored so it's probably safe to stick with what is still confirmed. However, from my point of view I think the Nintendo would be stupid not to take advantage of the fact the controller, is in fact a Tablet. Providing a controller that could surf social networking sites, watch you-tube videos, and check email would be an appealing addition to the Wii U system.

@ Michael Nicely said Mike, I think you perfectly encapsulated what made this game an instant classic.

Episode 47: Just the Two of Us, We Can Recount 2011 If We Try

Posted on 01/03/2012 at 11:53 AM | Filed Under Feature

@Julian yea I'm with you, I think that we will continue to see developers who represent their respective companies, they just not might be in the same places. Who knows, maybe no one will ever step up at Konami, but others who have both the talent and the personality will show themselves. Notch is a perfect example. While Mojang is still small, Notch is and will continue to be synonymous with that company. Maybe it will be the indie scene that reveals our new group of gaming stars or maybe it will be in a revitalized genre, I can't say for sure where they will show up, but I do think they will.

nice work on this episode guys I really enjoyed it, also Julian/Rob let me know if you guys are going to get int SWOTR and if so what server. I wouldn't mind necessarily jumping on a new MMO, especially if some people from PixlBit are getting involved.

Overall Game of the Year 2011

Yea I gotta say I was really happy with this list as a whole and I think it was a good reflection of the diversity of gamers that we have here at Pixlbit. When I first came over here I was apprehensive about covering MW3 because I wasn't sure if there was even an audience for a game like that here on this site, but I quickly figured out that I was wrong. I was impressed and happy to see that only was there a fan base that was interested in a mainstream title like that, but also a following for leads on games like Xenoblade. Already writing here as opened my eyes to a couple of titles that I would not have previously considered and I look forward to expanding my gaming tastes in the months to come.

Episode 45: Capcom Chaos

I agree with you guys I think a game that really focused on ingenuity and observation would bring about a much more realistic experience of survival. The only problem with the title that you are describing mike, is that it is a very ambitious project. For a game like this to work it needs to offer ample flexibility in the solutions offered, but it also needs to be clever in how it delvers these solutions to the player. A game that stresses on alternative thinking cannot simply freely provide players with alternative options, or the discovery of these solutions would lose all sense of meaning. At the same time the game must incorporate a very clear system in figuring out how to achieve objectives or it might become to abstract for players to understand.

Don't get me wrong Mike I really like the idea of this game and hope to see it someday. I just have yet to see a developer that has been able to implement multiple choice paths in an organic manner suited to creating this type of atmosphere. Who knows maybe someday it'll be you who creates the first game like this. As I said I'd love to see this game, I'm just not sure if the industry has reached the level needed to implement these design choices.

Yea it's tough this really was one of the greatest years in gaming EVER! So unfortunately that means that there was just not enough spots to represent all of the great games that came out this year. But in honesty having to many great games to choose from is a pretty awesome predicament to have.

Thanks Mike, yea these are going to be a new weekly addition every Tuesday just to help people recap quickly about what happened over the week. That's a good point about Dead Island, I hope they wouldn't make the same decision to misrepresent what the title is so badly, but like you said only time will tell. I'll also be filling in the gaps with some smaller videos that I'll be posting through our new blog feature in the near future.
