Japan's release date remains unchanged.
Sega has changed the release date of their upcoming title, Anarchy Reigns. Developer Platinum Games announced on their website that the title has been delayed in both the US and Europe. Desipte being completely finished and localized, Sega has slapped a TBC (To Be Confirmed) date on the title until a final decision is made. In Japan, however, the game will still be available on July 5.
And there was much rejoicing.
Just when we thought we couldn’t get any more deader, Atlus comes out with an announcement that will have Demon’s Souls fans rejoicing. The publisher, who had previously stated that the game’s servers would be going offline at the end of the month has pulled a 180 and declared that North American server support will instead “continue to operate for the foreseeable future.”
Gearbox Producer teases that the Wii U is a “Powerful, Powerful Machine”
Skeptics have been dismissing the Wii U since its reveal, claiming that the new console still will fail to hold a candle to the current generation consoles. Some developers have been going out of their way to dispute these claims, such as Vigil, the company behind Darksiders 2, claiming that the console will have a version of the game that is “at least as good as” the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. Gearbox however, goes even further to say flat out that The Wii U version of their upcoming title, Aliens: Colonial Marines, will indeed look better than the rest.
And it's amazing.
We’re at a point in time when a plethora of franchises from the early days of gaming are reaching major milestones. Just one of those storied game series is Street fighter, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary all year long. Capcom has already announced that they would be holding a global tournament series to mark the occasion, but Street Fighter fans and video game collectors will surely be much more excited about the newly announced Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set.
Crazy clicking creates copious cases of carpal tunnel.
Click. Click. Click. It’s hard to believe that a game that’s entirely based around mouse clicking can be as entertaining, addictive, and all-consuming as Diablo III is. Blizzard took twelve years to deliver the third release of their dungeon-exploring, monster-slaying, loot-hoarding series, and it was entirely possible that this game wouldn’t deliver on over a decade of anticipation. I’m here to tell you that Blizzard did indeed deliver and as soon as I’m done telling you exactly how amazing this game is you can count on me going back in for more clicking, carnage, and loot. Often imitated but never duplicated, Blizzard has given a powerful reminder of who the king of the click really is.
An in depth look at the base of operations where all players are before and after each mission.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This game's only worth one: junk.
Two hours. That’s how long it took me to finish Spirit Camera: The Lost Memoir. But to be fair, at least thirty of those minutes were spent trying to get the AR working properly, so I’ll amend my original statement. Ninety minutes is the actual time it took me to complete Spirit Camera, and I’d really like each one of them back.
Activision's lawsuit with former Infinity Ward developers revealed the agreement.
Activision's high profile development deal with Bungie, creator of the Halo franchise, was revealed during the equally high profile lawsuit between themselves and former Call of Duty developers, Jason West and Vince Zampella. The terms of the deal with Bungie weren't disclosed when the information originally came to light, but the lawsuit has revealed the full scope of the agreement. The 27-page contract states that Bungie is to develop four "sci-fantasy, action shooter games," code-named "Destiny." The titles will be released every other year, beginning in the fall of 2013.
Does Treyarch’s new look offer a breath of fresh air to the franchise or just a flashy paint job?
Earlier this month Treyarch released the surprising official reveal trailer of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Fans and Critics alike commended Treyarch’s futuristic vision. No longer pitted in the cliché recesses of historic conflicts, Black Ops 2 looks to share its vision of the future, and it’s one loaded with lethal robots! However, while the change of scenery certainly is refreshing, I can’t help but wonder – Is it really that different?
