Looks like we finally made it! After 31 days of 31 Octoberween blogs it's all come down to this. I hope you all enjoyed this year's Octoberween blogging maddness this year. I enjoyed writing them just as much as coming up with the ideas and themes for this year. I wasn't sure if I could make it given all that has gone on with my life as of late. But the thought's of my dad kept me going in dedicating this year's Octoberween.

I'd like to end this year on a high note with one final Octoberween 2015 Video Weekend by posting the AVGN's four part video retrostpective on the Castlevania series. Given how Konami is facing such hate and ugliness as of late with it's fall from grace, I wanted to showcase a breif time in their history when Konami was still looked upon with respect given the quality they put into one of their key franchises. Well quailty might be a moving target in some respects as the AVGN points out. Still I liked it how in the end of the video retrospective in how he spoke of the fond memories that Castlevania gave him so long ago. In a way that also mirrors my thoughts on what Castlevania use to be as a traditional side scroller with horror themes and not what is now with it's metroidvania/3D offerings today. It kind of hit me in the nostalgia factor given how as I also played Castlevania I couldn't help but think of my Dad God rest his soul. Like Castlevania I too have found memories of the times I spent with my Dad and in the end what I have left of him is memories. Memories that I'll treasure for the rest of my life, much like the Castlevania seres of old. I hope you enjoyed it and are able to take something away from it at the end of the final episode.

Well I still have a few more things to prep for tonight (and this weekends) festivities. I got to get more candy, finalize the costume accessories, sharpen the wooden stakes, locate more 9mm rounds bathed in holy water and blessed by a priest (you'd be suprised how hard it is to ifnd a priest who'll do that around here), and make the final choices on what entertainment media I'll enjoy. May you and yours have a very fun and very safe and of course a Happy Halloween tonight.
