Steam Sale Picks!

For this year, I'm thinking of buying a few games.

Tales of Zestiria -- This is a title I've been considering for a bit on the PC. I know it's not a perfect port, but there are patches available that do a lot of fixes. If I do get it, I'm going to try to do some of the remote play stuff that nVidia video cards can do, and work out playing some multiplayer with Kathrine Theidy/Mop it up. We'll see how it goes. If it works well, maybe I'll share things some around here!

Undertale -- I'm a big fan of EarthBound and I've seen some comparisons. I don't know too much about the game, but word of mouth got to me. I might hold off on this one, though, since I'm slow to play some games, and I'm sure it'll be cheaper at a later sale.

Surgeon Simulator -- This just seems goofy, and it's so cheap, why not? I think my girlfriend might enjoy trying it, too. She said she'd give it a shot, so it's going to be a definite buy this time around.

Crypt of the Necrodancer -- I may have gotten the title of this one wrong, but it was a recommendation of Chris Mabrey. Anyone know how fun the game plays if you use whatever music is built in, rather than your own? I'm more apt to do that than use my own music. Still fun?

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes -- With my work, I go about two months at a time on night shift, and fortunately, after about midnight, it gets quiet enough that this could make for a fun game to play with coworkers, especially since I wouldn't guess the person guiding the bomb diffuser needs gaming/computer skills. Anyone have experience with this sucker? I'm practically sold, even though it's "barely" on sale.

Those are the ones I'm considering. Anyone else have any standouts?

I got a ton of games, and a few DLCs. If you like retro based games, these caught my attention:

I've only played Tales of Zesteria on your list and I thought it was very pretty and enjoyed the character interactions in the party. A bit like Dragon Age, except lighter tone. The combat has a elemental magic system, and it allowed me to take advantage of enemies weakness and get pretty far without really having to grind which was a plus. I thought the dungeons were pretty dull, and the boss fights were challenging enough to keep me interested. And I've never really played a Tales game before so I cannot compare to others. But, very pretty. Felt a bit like Xenoblade chronicles.

Tales of Zesteria looks pretty good, I saw that on sale and considered it.

I ended up picking up Civilization 5 Complete edition ($12 total for everything). I also got SOMA for $15, the Metro Redux bundle of both games ($7), and the platformer Electronic Super Joy (was only 70 cents!)

I've purchased Zestiria now, and have tried to make the nVidia Gamestream COOP. We're trying to do it with the client using a GameCube controller attached via the GameCube Controller Adapter for the Wii U. Not having any luck so far, but there are a few things to sort out. I'll post updates if I get any!

I've heard great things about Undertale. I'd like to play that one.
