Games I'm Playing:

Bioshock (360)

 photo f1ec61f4-c649-4b08-a960-862b15d81211_zpsecbfd011.jpg

I started my 2nd attempt at this game recently.  I was enjoying it the first time I played, but quit playing for something else (probably Mass Effect again).  I wanted to give Bioshock another try and since I didn't remember how to play it, I started from the beginning.  I'm not as far as I was when I quit, but it won't take long to get there (I was only a few hours in anyway).  I'm enjoying Bioshock.  I'll probably finish it this time and then I can work on getting Bioshock Infinite next.

Ni no Kuni (PS3)

I finally got back to this game.  I'm putting in time and enjoying it.  So far I have no problems with the game.  Ni no Kuni is turing into a nice adventure. Smile

NBA Jam: On Fire Edition (360)

 photo nbajamonfire_zps16370571.jpg

This game can be a bitch.  It's way better than the NBA Jam (reboot) physical version, but damn.  It's been years since I played NBA Jam (SNES), but I was a beast on that game.  This game is a bit different.  I'm not big on basketball, but I remember some of the old players the 90s and early 00s.  I play with the guys I know.  Out of curiosity, I did the roster update that I saw available.  Damn, I shouldn't of done that.  Now my roster is full of dudes I don't know and they removed many people from the old roster.  IMO, the old roster was better.  There were more balanced players in the old roster.  Another thing I don't recall is playing offense being so difficult.  You have no real way to defend yourself against the defense.  All you have is trick dribbling, which if you do against a capable defensive player, you will lose the ball, easily) and elbow swings, which is prety much useless.  The defense just beats you to the ground (you can't even pass) until you lose the ball.  It's a frustrating mess. Yell  I may just play the com players on normal and not bother with the more difficult settings and the alternate rules.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 (360)

I unlocked all the characters and I'm having fun.  I really don't have a favorite character to fight with.  I just hit random select and learn during the fight.  I'm usually playing my son, who is pretty damn good.  He was always beating me in Generations.  Now, I do must of the winning in UNS3.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (DS)

I'm still playing.  I'm not sure how much I have left.  I haven't been stuck since the last time I mentioned, so I'm advancing well.  If I can dedicate more time to playing DoS, I'll probably have it finished over the weekend.

Games I Bought:

Pandora's Tower (Wii) - I don't know when I'll start this game.  I need to get my Wii back in my game room.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Soul Hackers (3DS) - I've been waiting for this game a long time.  My plan was to get the SAT or PS version once it got translated.  Now, that's not needed.  Now, I only need a 3DS. Cool

Mass Effect Trilogy (PS3) - Now I can play my favorite series on the PS3. Laughing

MLB 10 The Show (PS3) - Seriously, the last baseball game I played was Baseball (NES) over a decade ago.  The latest baseball game I played was Bases Loaded.

 photo FIFAWC0210screens03_zps65c91a15.jpg

2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa (360) - I hadn't played a soccer game in a long time either.  The last soccer game I played was FIFA '97 (SAT).  I bought more recent soccer games since then, but I hadn't played any of them yet.  Hopefully, I get to this one soon.

Preorders & Games to Get Soon:

 photo shin-megami-tensei-iv-special-edition-1024x881_zpscf5ec330.jpg

Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS) - I preordered this a little over a week ago and today I find out that there will be a limited edition.  I plan to upgrade to the LE.

Project X Zone (3DS) - I saw a trailer and it looked interesting.

 photo cross-edge-playstation-3-ps3-108_zpsd8425bb3.jpg

Cross Edge (PS3) - I walked into GameStop to pick up this game, but one of my friends beat me to it.  Another copy as been found and I'll get it soon.

Valkyrie Chronicles (PS3) - I have a bid going on Ebay.  It looks like I might win.

That's the happenings this week.  What are you playing?  Any input on the games I bought or plan to buy?  And, if anyone know of any game sales, feel free to share the love. Cool

I just got ME3 on PS3 also. I got it to play MP with my friends who have the PS3 version. Once I can snag Arrival and the ME3 DLC on sale though I'll start up the single player.

I paid too much for the dlc on the 360, so I don't plan to buy it again.  Damn shame EA didn't had all the dlc to the trilogy.  I honestly think this trilogy released too early.  I bet it releases again with all the dlc included. Undecided

That's a lot of games. Let me know how Dawn of Sorrow is, I might want to pick that one up at some point.

No problem.  So far it's good.

I hope that limited edition is as nice as it looks.

Glad to see you getting back into Bioshock James. Have you played all the DLCs for the Xbox versions you have of the ME games? Now that you have ME Trilogy for PS3 do you think you'd buy all the DLCs for your PS3 versions?

I've been thinking about what my to-buy list needs to look like and what kind of games I want to get for the spring/summer drought of games that always comes. At the moment the games that I want to get the most are ME3 since I've never played it and I want to get all the DLCs for it. I also want to get the new re-release of Dragon's Dogma that's coming out this month called Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen which includes the full game, an expansion pack, new enemies, gear, etc, and improvements to the interface and some other things. I've been waiting a long time to play Dragon's Dogma and now this re-release with all the new content and fixes and the reduced price sounds like my perfect way to get the game finally.

Besides ME3 and Dragon's Dogma re-release I really want to get Tropico 4 Gold Edition because I need a good city building fix. I realized that my game buying and playing habits fluxuate between FPS games, and then RPGs, strategy, and simulation. I've already had my shooter fix since I just played through Bioshock Infinite and Far Cry 3, so now I need to balance things out and the next games I buy will be RPG and strategy/simulation.

Unless there is a HUGE sale, I don't plan to buy the ME dlc for the PS3.  It's too expensive and, as much as I love ME, it's not worth it.

I didn't know about the re-release of Dragon's Dogma.  I want that game too.  I almost bought it several times and now I'm glad I hadn't yet.

I don't know anything about Tropico.  I see the games around.  I forgot about Far Cry 3.  I hear that game is great.  I need to add it to the list.

you already got the limited edition. it's the first run, so since you already pre-ordered you're good to go. I got mine done today, along with Project X Zone.

I was told that, but I want to make sure.  Don't want to leave room for mistakes. Laughing

You can rest assured - it's in the press release.  Here's a snippet...

"All bonus collectors' items are limited to the first printing of SMTIV; subsequent printings will only include the SMTIV game."

Ni no Kuni is my second favorite game of the generation, after Valkyria Chronicles, and I haven't enjoyed a "traditional" (non-strategy) RPG this much since Final Fantasy XII.

I'm enjoying Bioshock Infinite, but I didn't like the first two Bioshock games all that much.

The only other game coming out this year that I'm definitely getting is Tales of Xillia. I sprung for the Collectors' Edition of that game.

Sadly, I lost the Valkyria Chronicles on ebay.  Someone at the last minute kept adding a $1 until they won.  That freaking annoys me. Yell  Anyway, I have other options to getting VC.

I was advised to get the Tales CE because the series doesn't normally get a special edition, but the price is too high.  If it were lower, or didn't have 4 kids with a 5th on the way, I'd do the jump. Cool

Valkyrie Chronicles is amazing.  I've been playing Ni No Kuni too.  I really love it.

Hopefully, I can get VC soon.

Bioshock is not everything the reviewers made it out to be, but it is still a great game. Hope you enjoy it.

SMTIV looks good. One of the many 3DS games that make me interested in the system.

I'm not sure I have even heard of Cross Edge. Apparently that game came out almost 4 years ago!

I had my eyes on Cross Edge (PS3) for years.  All this time I've been waiting for the price to drop.  It did and recently started going up again.  I need to get on it before it goes up more.

I hadn't heard of Cross Edge but it looks interesting, kind of like Project X Zone...which also looks interesting lol. I might pre-order SMT IV for all that stuff that comes with it. Definitely tempting. We'll see. Oh, and when you do buy a 3DS, I'd strongly recommend getting an XL. I had a regular 3DS and then I upgraded to the XL and I like it so much better. My hands don't cramp now and the big screens look so good Laughing Mine also came with a pre-installed copy of Mario Kart 7, which is pretty fun too.

Thanks for the advice.  I think I will go with the 3DS XL.  It sounds like the way to go.

From what I read about Cross Edge, it's not a great game.  I still looks like an unique experience.  It's probably not as bad as I've read.

I played Cross Edge at my brother's house and couldn't figure it out. It seemed cool with all the different characters from different series though. Man that sucks about NBA Jam. I was kinda interested in it. I got it on SNES, so I think I'll just skip the new one. Are you gonna play the second Bioshock? I thought it was better than the first one although most people say the opposite.

If you have the NBA Jam (SNES), then I'd stay with it.  I think it's better than the new one.

I was told Bioshock 2 was not as good as Bioshock 1.  I know Bioshock 2 is cheaper than B1 used.  I'll probably give B2 a shot though.

I am playing Sly 4, and Guacamelee. I really like Gaucamelee and been mostly playing it on my Vita. I might throw something else in to play soon. Nice to see you playing Bioshock. That is an incredible game. I thought about playing the PS3 version that came with Bishock Infinite.

Bishock 2 isn't as good as the first but it is still a good game and I think its worth a play through.

Bioshock is cool.  I put it off far too long.  After I finish it, I think I'll get the 2nd game.

I don't know a thing about Gaucamelee.  I noticed some ads around for it.  I don't even know what kind of game it is.
