I hadn't put up a blog in a while.  I've been busy with work and when I'm not busy, I've been lazy. Laughing  I bought a few new games since I blogged last, but I'm too lazy to go get them out.  I'm pretty sure I didn't buy as many as I usually do.  I've been getting better at saving money.  The last game I bought was Dragon's Crown (PS3) and I hadn't even opened it yet.

Now Playing:

Dragon's Age: Origins (360)

Dragonageorigins photo dragon-age-origins-pc-079_zpsa336f6e1.jpg

Since I heard the 3rd game was coming, I've been in the mood to play some DA.  I'm currently playing through the game as a femal noble dwarf.  It's my first time playing as a dwarf and it's pretty cool.  I like that the game has little differences depending on your race, gender, and caste.  And, there is so much content.  Playthroughs aren't dull at all.

Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS)

SMT4 photo shin-megami-tensei-iv_zps95bd144f.jpg

I recently bought a 3DSxL so I could play the 3DS games I've bought.  I had to pick the toughest game in the bunch.  SMT4 is a beast.  It took me over 13hrs to get from the 1st dungeon to the next.  If it wasn't for my knowledge of demon weakestnesses from pass games, I'd still be in the 1st dungeon. Laughing

On to other stuff:

New addition to the family and it's another boy!  On 1UP, I'd post a pick of the latest baby.  I guess I'll contiue that tradition here too, since many of my friends are from 1UP. Laughing

Child #5 photo IMG_0653_zpsfdf0fc7e.jpg

Child #5!  They're all cute when they're sleeping.

Child #1-4 photo IMG_0664_zpsf1241d3a.jpg

These are my other 4.  The youngest one with the pacifier is bad.  Don't let the cuteness fool you.  You don't turn your back on this kid.  You will regret it.  If you notice in the pic, my oldest son has tape on his glasses.  They were broke by the little one last week.  My oldest also has a scar from being bit by the little guy the week before that.  He's only 2 and he don't take no shit. Cool

Non family related, I started watching Persona 4: The Animation.  I'm almost halfway through and I think it's pretty good.  I know there's a Devil Survivor 2 anime too.  I hope it gets an english release too.

Persona4 photo Persona4_zpse010ce97.jpg

After watching the anime, I'm going to want to play the game again.

That's all I got.  What are you guys playing?

No, I know how you got the kids! How the hell do you keep up with them?

jgusw

Whoa!  Misunderstood.  Laughing

Keeping up with them isn't too bad.  The only one we really have to watch is #4.  The older kids (9, 6, & 4) are pretty easy.  They can do quite a bit themselves and they help each other (sometimes my wife & I make them).  It's the 2yr old and new born we really have to keep up with.  The new born because, well.... he's a new born and the 2yr old we have to watch that he doesn't kill himself doing something or kill someone else.  The older kids help too, but you can't rely on them too much.  They are just children. I need to get SMT 4. I am waiting on the 39.99 version though.

jgusw

08/23/2013 at 08:28 PM

I preordered the game, so I have the $49.99 version.  The think the strategy & design book is worth the extra $10.  You will need all the help you can get with this game.  I also picked up Fire Emblem Awakening when it came out, so I was able to get the $30 credit from Nintendo.  I haven't decided what to use it on yet. Undecided

You've got an adorable set of kiddos James.

Did you get the ultimate edition of DA: Origins for your 360, with all the DLC and expansion pack? I've never played Origins but I'd like to, I want to get that ultimate version when I get the chance.

jgusw

08/23/2013 at 08:31 PM

Yeah, that's the one I have.  I bought it used from GameStop a few years ago.  I paid less than $20 for it then.  It's worth it for the dlc alone.  I was hoping DA2 would get the same treatment, but I guess that's not going to happen.  I'll have to dig into my pockets and get some of the extras for that game.  You'd think after all these years the damn dlc would have been price cut by now.  The damn dlc is more expensive than the damn game.

What are the kids fav games? Are they getting Disney Infinity? I want Disney Infinity. Cry

My oldest likes to play Halo or Star Wars games.  The others play with him sometimes or they'll play some games on the Wii.  They've spent hours playing Wii Sports and Kirby's Epic Yarn.

I would like to get SMT IV for my 3DS, but due to my inexpirience with RPGs, i'm afraid I might get beaten to the ground a lot. Then again, I got Persona 3, and i've been doing fine there (okay, it's the easiet difficulty, but it's still a bit tough)

Well if the one with the pacifier is bad, then keep him out of the baby lol.

jgusw

08/24/2013 at 06:55 AM

Keeping that little dude from the baby is on the top of the list.  There have been a couple times we turned our back for a sec and he was trying to pick the baby up or shove a pacifier in the baby's mouth.  He's actually not bad all the time.  He's more like Dennis the Mence.  He tries to do good, but many times something destructive happens.  And you don't want to cross him. Laughing

SMT4 is for sure harder than P3 on normal.  It's almost impossible get demons from behind because of the screen size and camera.  I learned to get some preemptive fights, but in the beginning the demons were hitting me first all the time.  I did a lot of fighting just in the first room of the dungeon right next to the exit.  Even after leveling up a bit, weaker demons can still take out your whole team.  Take nothing likely in this game. Laughing

Damn, you're catching up to my brother on the kid front! But he'd got 4 girls and 2 boys.

One of these days I have to play DA: Origins. As for what I'm playing now, AC2 and Cape West.

jgusw

08/24/2013 at 07:10 AM

We thought this last one was going to be a girl and surprise..... he wasn't.  We didn't know until he was born.  My wife & I did talk about having 6.  If we do, I'm sure she wouldn't mind another girl. Laughing

I didn't like AC too much.  I've been told the 2nd game is better.  I did download the free game from XBL.  One of these days I'll get to it.

The second game is way better than the first! I gave up on the first one after trying (and wanting) very hard to like it. I'm hooked on the second one, to the point I discover that "oh my god! it's 3 AM and I'm still up playing this game!"

jgusw

08/24/2013 at 07:34 AM

Nice!  I'll move it up my play list.  I'll try to start on it after I finish with Dragon Age.

Thanks!  They're good guys and the bad one does mean well, most of the time. Smile

Well, I think that I am officially terrified of playing SMT IV...  I hope that I didn't waste the money on SMT only to not play it.  Big families are good, I should know, 6 siblings.

jgusw

08/24/2013 at 07:18 AM

I won't lie to you, the beginning is hard.  For a second, I thought I was going to quit.  It got a bit easier once I got out of the 1st dungeon.  I felt like I accomplished something.  I read a couple reviews that say it's easy for newcomers to get into.  That I don't agree with.  Maybe newcomers to SMT, but not newcomers to rpg games.

Wow, nice family. Really big though. I don't know if I could handle even just one kid!

jgusw

08/24/2013 at 07:29 AM

I'm sure you could handle one.  Babies do take up more of your time though.  A kid that can talk,  feed his/her self, and use the bathroom is a whole lot easier.  I know you could handle one of those. Laughing

Have to say you've got a nice family. I've been replaying all three Mass Effects lately (first time I can remember this not being in one of these, but Dragon Age is still Bioware) as well as Saints Row 4 which is great.

jgusw

08/24/2013 at 07:33 AM

I almost started Mass Effect 1 a couple days ago.  I have too many other games to get to.  Playing DA is a way to back off of ME a bit. Laughing

I only own Saints Row 1.  I played it a bit.  I want to get the other games too.  If I go back to the first game and finish it, I'm sure I'll more the others up the "to get" list faster.

I am sure that having kids is hard in the beginning... wait.  You keep your kids in a dungeon?  Oh, you were just talking about SMT.

jgusw

08/24/2013 at 10:38 AM

I'm sure keeping children in a dungeon is illegal.  Though it would be nice to have around and scare them with it.  "You better behave.  Do you want to spend the night in the dungeon?" Laughing

Congrats on the new baby! We just have one son right now and he's really well behaved...which makes us worried that the next one might be horrible lol. Your family's looking good though Smile

I've hardly played any games this week because we've had friends staying with us from out of town, but I've been playing SMT IV too. I had trouble with negotiating at first but I got the hang of it with some practice. Also finally finishing up Gears of War 2 with my wife. We started it over a year and half ago but never finished it. In the Locust palace now. Seems like there was something else...oh, some Animal Crossing. Those weeds aren't going to pull themselves!

jgusw

08/24/2013 at 04:45 PM

Thanks!  Our first 3 children were easy.  The 3rd was the easiest.  And, then came 4th.  We're hoping the 5th isn't so "active". Laughing

I hadn't thought about playing GoW with the wife.  She would probably enjoy it.  She got the hang of playing the Mass Effect trilogy, so I think she can handle GoW with minimal difficulty.

congrats on the new arrival! was wondering when we'd hear word of your next child for I knew you were expecting. I didn't know there was a Persona 4 animation. I might want to give it a try since the Valkyrie Chronicles anime finally compelled me to buy the game.

I didn't know there was a Valkyrie Chronicles anime.  I'll have to look for that one.

Nice group of kids. The new boy looks cute! There is no way I could handle that many. They need to be watched often. My little girl will get in anything. She but a lot of my wife's powder all over one of are chairs. She has been very naughty. Kids so young do anything. Well congrats for the new born!

jgusw

08/26/2013 at 05:56 PM

Thanks!  My wife & I were pretty spoiled with the first 3.  They usually do what they are told.  The 3rd child is by far the most well behaved.  It's that 4th child we have to watch.  If we have anything of value, it has to be put away.  The kid destroys things for fun.  He has got a hold of sugar twice and threw it all over the kitchen and twice threw baby powder all over our bathroom.  His favorite thing to do is go the the refridgerated, getting water, and pouring or spitting it all over the house.  He does it quitly so no one can catch him.  We don't find out about it until we're walking through the house and step on a wet floor.
