Lyric to one of y fav songs there, and with that I say

"Hello, I hope you Holiday and respective religious celebration has been pleasant"

From what I gather most of you have. Good. Food booze and a birth day has past and now the new year is apon us, So let me get this out of the way with my picks of the last 2 weeks.

DC

Though this is treading old Ground -kinda- the "friction" of Diana being split between her multipule roles in the world which should have been in Azzs run.

I mean she's the god of war, a Justice league member an heir and ruler of the Amazons, all these roles leave her isolated or takes up her overall time, the only time she's Diana is when she's in private with Clark (in which there relationship is superfitial at best) but she becoming withdrawn from him and everyone else so much so that Ares man eating birds have been attacking the Island and she didn't know and on that realisation she called in by the League.

Other reviewers have been extremely hard on this issue, for reasons I can't fathom. It's showing Diana being streched beyond her limits wanting to protect everyone but slowly failing, so much so it causes future problems. And the art by Finch is more consistent than usual, not a fan of the muted clours but nothing iss perfect.

This is the Planet the Original Captain Marvel, stupidly named Shazam hails. The oppening pages are fun as F*** but mostly for contextualreasons. Evil Dr Sivana and his superpowered lackies (who happen to be his family) attack the Rock of Eternity with his own Robotic Rock of Eternity (which is twice in size).

The sad thing is the evil trios super costumes look better designed than noth the original and the New. How sad is that?

Anyway, Grant packs everything Marvel in this issue, I mean iwas suprised I didn't see a kitchen sink somewhere, Sivana managed to colude with versions of himself from other universes somehow "Import" Time from each of them inorder to create his own rock to over power Shazam, there's a Snake and even Slasher version of himself and the ending is so poetic it's almost like a child would write it (yes, that's a complament).

It also has a happy ending, makes a change.

It's beautiful and Alan Moore makes an Appearance... as Father Time

Prince makes an appearance in this, no it's Prince. Late 80s early 90s Prince but it's Prince! This visually experiment comic is all about pop and conter culture as well as branding and iconography, there have been loads of cheeky nods here and there but this was blatant and I love it.

The conspiracy and action is Hyped here, I mean you have possesed Cats fighting Dog men for goodness sake, he we our hero Rori's life get torn assunder as well as get an idea as to what she is or at least what her abilities will mean in the grand scheme of things as the enemy affraid of her power make a move.

It's Hard to talk about this comic with saying too much, I've been vague before but lets see if I can break this down.

There is a power that binds all living things like a Soul Chain a Spirit ribbon called The Weave, some humans are born with the ability to harness see and manipulate them, usually there own and doing so gives them powers that emulate there traites as well as over abilities. However what Rori is able to do with the weave is something only those with training can achieve as adults making her a threat to an organisation her mother belonged to. Who are they? No clue, how is her powers different from others? Ain't the foggiest but I tell you, i'm very interested...

Too bad that the comic is on Hiatus till March Frown

Well after sme conflick at work he's thinking over quiting. This issue is both sollomn and twee at the same time (?) and though I wasn't alive then feels like an 80s/90s indie movie. Hell, there's a Rock performance in it with a female volcalist. I can't imagine what a checklist of a late century indie movie would be but i'm sure this comic would tick every box Tongue Out

Legendary

This one is more visually stimulating than the other issues, and they where pretty to begin with but another name for this issue would be Pull Weird Faces because this issue is noticably full of them.

Mind you, it somehow suits the Grant Morrison craziness on the page.

I might talk about my latest game related issues and plans for next year, I felt down last year, and it took more time than I like to admit to feel better but remembering where I was this time last year? things have improved.

Well, I've got some eating to do so with that i'll leave you with this

This is V saying "I Was Born Standing Up And Talking Back!"

I love the art on that Wonder Woman cover.

I'm having enough problems with getting games to run on Steam now. Didn't need to be reminded by that video, but fuck EA.

David Finch is ify at the best of times but I do like much o his action shots and he's good at conveying a moody atmosphere.

When I had problems with Steam I had to reinstall a few times than I'd like. EA and Ubisoft can eat dog poo.

Everytime I read one of your comic blogs, it reminds how the medium is getting so varied nowadays and it's hard to keep up with. Not a bad thing though :P

Sterling? Nah, I prefer Totalbiscuit.

Nice! Jim Sterling's video was fun.

Sometime soon, I'm going to read another comic book and it's going to be. . . Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell's From Hell.

You should Graphic Novels are easier to come by now and the decades worth of good stories digitally available at bargin prices. Have you missed out on Marvel/Miracle Man?

Well Marvel are republishing the classic Captain Marvel architype stories from the 80s. I mention this because this week an unpublished story by Grant Morrison is released this weak. I've seen some pages and I'm excited Laughing
