Borderlands 2 And My Patience -_-

So If memory serves me well I posted a blog on 1up about game of the year editions. Some of us love them, some of us hate and some couldnt care either way. I personally love GOTY editions. It does come off as another way to get money out of a game but there is a pain behind it for those of us who hold out for them. When I had the first Borderlands game, I bought the GOTY copy and loved it. I was super far behind everyone else because I was playing other games and I wont lie when I first saw something of Borderlands I shrugged and looked at other games. So the GOTY was a perfect fit for me when I got it for $30. Now while I badly want Borderlands 2, I refuse to buy it. I know that at some point their gonna announce a GOTY edition. It wont be till all the DLC is finished but it will come one day and thats the day I am waiting for dammit. I know its only 6 months in nearly and they still got DLC a coming but I rather wait and pay one main price for all the major DLC then pay a crap load of money. Patience can have a severally big benefit for those who are willing to wait. So for now, Borderlands 2 remains separated from me but in time, I shall have it!

Until then Ill re buy Borderlands and get my ass back to where I was on it and finish it.

I don't think I've ever bought a GOTY version of anything. Is is just that the games are given a price cut and a nice GOTY sticker, or is there another difference between GOTY editions and originals?

In any case, patience is a virtue, and Confucious say it leads to great savings. Wink

GOTY editions come with not only the main game but pretty much all major DLC that was released for the game. Borderlands GOTY copy came with all 4 DLC add ons. Thats why I love them because you get all the extra crap instead of paying horrendous amounts of money for it. People find it as an easy way for companys to make more money but I find it a money saver. The only thing bad about it is you have to play the waiting game for it.

I do think you may be waiting a long time, mainly because of the online co op and the season pass they sold because there would be a lot of pissed off people including me if they released a game of the year eddition cause I paid like $40 for that pass not to mention the extra character and bonus packs.

True but waiting is worth it to me. They released the first GOTY edition for the first game a few days before it turned a year old so I see it being a birthday present for me this year. I have plenty to keep me busy till then!

Well after Gearbox weaseling out of Sega's money for Alines, Gearbox ain't seeing a dollar from me. Hope that get's sorted out. Anyways, I also got the Borderlands GOTY ED on Gamestops game days sales in 2011 for 20 bucks and glad I did, got the full game and all the dlc for 20 bucks. Might wait on the eventual GOTY for BL2 since I have other games to play right now. If you do end up getting Borderlands 1 and 2 on the PS3, I'll gladly play some co-op with you.

Usually, I don't have the money for GOTY's, so I just sit there and hate on them in the mean time.  LOL.

Naw...GOTY's are okay, but it those Limited Editions that really grind my gears.

Im alright with limited editions, as long as the game is worth it and now a days you never really know if it is. I have a pure good example of that too but ill wait to say, Im still planning to post my 2012's biggest let down blog.

GOTY; I love GOTY issues, LBP and Fallout 3, included tons of free stuff that the early birds had to pay for.

I know, I find it such a better deal then buying the game on the day of release and buying DLC as it comes out. If I think a GOTY edition will be made in a particular game I stay away from it till that copy comes out.

GOTY editions are great. I couldn't get into Borderlands. I tried, believe me. I think it'd be a lot more fun if you play with friends. Random people online suck lol. Everybody was running off doing their own thing. There was no teamwork whatsoever! Isn't that the whole point of the game? Undecided

I love Borderlands, and while it is fun with other people im use to playing games by myself so if I dont have anyone to play with Im normally alright. Teamwork is if your playing with a team of people, sorry you had a bad experiance :(

With GOTY editions, it's almost not worth buying a lot of titles day one anymore. I love Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but sometimes I wish I'd held out on them until their GOTY editions came out.

I really try to make a good judgement call on if a game is gonna do that are not. Borderlands 2 I see being no different in that aspect from its first game. For other games though, its a big question. Right now Ill be busy trying to re buy some of the games I lost so maybe that will leave a big enough gap for that information to be found out.

I bought Borderlands 2 on day one and have bought every DLC separately; I don't regret it. I was ready for that game. I understand your decision but with a game this recent, a GOTY will be a while. Maybe in the fall, perhaps?

Im figuring in September, they released Borderlands GOTY edition a few days before it was a year old. Im aiming at it being a Birthday present for myself. Today I bought Borderlands GOTY edition again so Im gonna start working on that to get back to where I was on it.
