I feel you snee. It's just not the same with this short form ways of social media. Even with longtweet I can't get into it. But I have to admit I've found it easier to use and not as time consuming as posting a blog, even if those SM sites are becoming more and more garbage.
Looks like we followed the same thought when it came to blog posting. I can see why you bugged out of IGN when you did. Despite there being a small active group of bloggers it was hard to interact with them given how the site slowly stopped working for links and notifications. All my blogs from last year were't even viewable with links!
I can't say I've been a big follower of IGN in the past. I had only got into internet surfing for games when I moved out east and had access to high speed internet and the though provoking artcles for 1up.com staff writers won me over to the site.
Now a days I get my gaming news for twitter links and youtube posts of gamers I followed. Legit gaming news has seemed to have gone downhill like the rest of news reporting as of late.
Also congrats on getting quoted on those 1up arcade machines. I saw your quote in one of their commericals and I thought "I know that writer!"
So far I've just dug into twitter, gab and instagram due to networking and sharing purposed for my blogs. Thought about making a YouTube channel but honestly I'd need to sink more time into that to make the videos half decent, time I'd rather sing into blogging really.
I still see a use of blogs in this time but I can see how many sites are forsaking it given how videos are a more direct interaction in a sense and easier for a viewer to watching than to sit down and read a post.
Though about streaming to but again it's right up there with video making, need the time and equipment. Time and money i an better use to blogging and buying video games.
Hopefully sites like these won't die off anytime soon. One day I just might have to se tup a wordpress site to just archive. One day perhaps.

Dude! I just happened to stumbple upon that over this summer. A poor man's version of the Outer Limits I thought. Still a good show even if a bit flawned. Perosnally like the wWII episode where a medical coreman had to perform surgey over the radio as the doctor directed him only to find out that the doctor on the other line died at that moment during direction by a kamakazi attack!
The clown one was kinda messed up with the husband acting so nerotic and the wife bieng so weird from the start.
