Hideo Kojima and his development studio Kojima Productions have obviously been working on something big. We’ve reported in the recent months about his teasing of the new Fox Engine, and between discussion about the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance he’s been very coy about what’s coming around the corner. Earlier today in Japan at the special Metal Gear 25^th Anniversary event Mr. Kojima showed exactly what the Fox Engine is being used for, with a couple other surprises to boot.

Oh, and the HD collection gets a release date.

For those wondering when the HD collection of the cult hit series Zone of the Enders would be coming out, we now have a date.  It’s October 25^th of this year.  But that’s one of the more insignificant pieces of news to come out of the Zone of the Enders HD ReBOOT Preview event.

Snake Eater has a hard time seeing the forest for the trees.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is the kind of game that appeals to a very specific audience; an audience that already has unconditional love for the source material, which allows them to overlook the obvious shortcomings of this handheld iteration.  Though there is evidence that suggests that the developers treated this game as more than a simple port, their efforts will likely go unnoticed by those not previously indoctrinated.
