I finished another Metal Gear game tonight. It was an impulse play. I wasn't planning on even playing the game but once I started i just couldn't stop. And I mean I didn't stop. I never did save, not even once.
Metal Gear Solid: PS1, digital download on PS3.
My intentions was to play a few of the VR missions included in this game. But when the game started up, I watched the intro and then I figured, well, I'll play just a little. Maybe, just a little.
I finished the whole game in one sitting.

This broke my personal best record by over an hour!
And I did it without Stealth or Infinite Ammo. ( the stealth you see in the photo means, I earned that for the next game playthrough)
I dont know what happend, I just kept on playing and playing and before I knew it I was over half way through the game and I hadn't even saved yet!
So I thought, why not? Do a speed run and dont save. And I did and now I have yet another MGS game knocked back for my Year Of The Snake celebration.
I wanted to play this game last.
That's four games finished and five more to go. But I should really slow down. It's only April and I have until December 31 to finish.
But if I finish them all early...I can just start over!
I really need to come up with a strategy to stop you with this epic win streak but Im gonna go eat ice cream instead! LOL!
Nice, speed run GH! Ive gotten into a crazy play for hours mode but it hasnt happened recently. I think I sometimes get distracted with other things and that takes away from that. Anywho, glad your making progress!

Your devotion to MGS is unmatched. If you do finish early, are you going to try to redo them on the harder difficulty settings?
Joe: If I finish early, I will probably go back and try and find all the Ghost photos and do the VR missions. I've only done one MGS game on Normal and that was MGS3 Japanese version.
Oh my, you ARE a reckless man, aren't you? You almost never save! =D

Yeah, I got that when I only saved a couple times. Easy mode is so easy lol.

Well if you do finish playing early, you can always start Ape E...ah, never mind. :)
Cary: No, Im glad you bring it up. I may try for some high scores in Snake vs Ape. And one day, hopefully before the end of YOTS I will play Ape Escape 3.

It's been years since I've beaten the original MGS, and I imagine that it woudl take me probably around 10-20 hour to complete the first one if I were to ever try it again.
Yargz: My very first playthrough of MGS1 ...15 years ago took me 17 hours! But. I've been playing it now for 15 years...at least 2 times a year or more. Luckely I beat every Boss on the first try except for Liquid...hand to hand.
I am impressed! There are very few games out there I can actually do in one sitting!

Speed runs yea right I cant even slow run through my games I got a two and five year old who garantees me I wont be able to do that lol but then again thats why im playing golf slow relaxing and best of all my kids dont care for it so they dont hound me to play lol.
Lee: it wasnt a speedrun at first, but since it was a work night I wanted to get finished the closer I got towards the end.....so, I thought...go for it!
All I can say is WOW. That right there is a crazy time for MGS and throw in no saving? You sir get a standing ovation.
I think if you finish all the Metal Gear games before the year is up, do a speed run of all the games.

Metal Gear sorta lost it for me after the original on NES. Im not sure why, but I couldn't get into the series after that, although I was loving MGS2 up until it forced you to play as Raiden.
Scott: Yeah, MGS isnt for ever one and I can appreciate you not wanting to play as Raiden, especially since, like you say, they foreced us to play as Raiden, but read my previous blog and you'll see I changed my mind on playing as Raiden. but still, its not everyones cup of tea. That is very impressive! I could not do that if my life depended on it. I save so often during that game I'm surprised Mei Ling doesn't tell me to "man up"! "You are such a wuss! Why do you save so often!" She loses patience with me quickly.
You, Gray Hair, are an absolute monster. I will now refer to you as the god of Metal Gear Solid. 
I have MGS 4, but I'm having a hard time finding the time to beat it. I'm just after the awesome part where Liquid is on that boat and he makes finger guns and shoots down everyone else. Now I'm at the part where Snake is on the island which I think is the setting of the original MGS. I thought the introduction of the pixelated facecamo was cute.
I think that I should try to speedrun the original Kingdom Hearts, as thats my favorite game ever.
I really wanna beat MG4, i've never beat one MG game :s Part 2 was the game I got farthest in, but Raiden just couldn't hold my interest. And part 3 just didn't interest me at all! (I owned it for the PS2 and the 3DS, traded it in four different times for both systems!) Everyone raves how good the games are, I'm about to go to the doctors and get checked for ADD, Lol! (Not that ADD is funny, but I'm obviously missing out on something here)
