Anybody who grew up in the early '90s surely remembers Darkwing Duck, one of the great Disney Afternoon shows. Last year I found out there had been a Darkwing Duck revival in 2010 as a comic book and it was apparently very good, though it ran only about two years before its publisher lost the Disney license. A different publisher, Joe Books, finally picked up the license for Darkwing and the first thing they did was put out a giant, 400-page collection of the previous comic series. I finally picked it up after Christmas and have really been enjoying it. I'm in the second story arc at the moment. The art is great—looks like a very detailed version of the show—and the writing is spot on. I really love Darkwing's penchant for alliteration lol. If you have fond memories of DW or love colorful, cartoony comics, Darkwing Duck is a good one to check out. Joe Books has been making new Darkwing comics since getting the license, of course, and with the same creative team as before. The first volume of that just came out last month, which I'll probably grab that at some point as well.

This is the full wrap-around image that covers the big collection. Good stuff!

I remember liking Darkwing Duck and its theme song, but not much else about it. I've played the 8-bit Mega Man-style game and it was impressive for an NES title. I think it came out late in the system's life.

Capcom was really firing on all cylinders when they had the Disney license on the NES. Chip 'n Dale, Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, and even The Little Mermaid were all great games.

I didn't watch Darkwing Duck religiously as a kid but I'd watch it whenever it happened to be on and always enjoyed it. Just one of those little pieces of my childhood. *google google* The NES game came out in 1992, so after the lauch of the SNES. Pretty late indeed!

I got a few of the new Darkwing comics a few years ago.  They were really cool and did stuff that they probably couldn't do in the TV show.  I remember in particular one story involving Quacker Jack.  The ending in that story just made me go, 'wow.'  I hope I can pick up any new Darkwing comics.  I REALLY liked the Disney Afternoon cartoons when I was a kid.  I'm glad Disney is reviving DuckTales as a cartoon (hope it's good), and I hear in 2018 they're going to do the same with Darkwing.

I know which one you're talking about with Quacker Jack. That was surprisingly poignant. I'm very interested in how the new DuckTales turns out.

Ah so you know about that one (didn't want to spoil it).  "This is as good as I'll ever be."  Dang!

Looks great! I love the cartoon! I remembering loving the old Donald Duck comics. Disney comics are usually pretty good.

this is pretty fucking awesome. I just bought a WonderWoman omnibus for the writer Geore Perez who was apparently dope in the 90s.  Looking forward to it. I love comics. Such a great medium.

I've read a lot of serious comics, especially Batman (so much Batman O_O) but I find it's the lighthearted cartoony comics that I enjoy the most. I'm definitely going to try to stick with this series.

Darkwing Duck was one of those cartoons that I listened to the intro and turn the channel right after it was over.  I don't think I ever watched an episode.  I watched a lot of Ducktales though.

I like that cover.

Well then, you were missing out, man. DW was good stuff.

I never really watched it, being about ten years or more older than most of the rest of you. What I do remember is one of my littlest cousins running around saying "Suck gas, evildoer!" to just about everyone hed meet.

Oh man! That Treasury volume looks so good. I can't buy anything at the moment though. But I just saw my local library has several of the original trade paperbacks. I know what I'm reading next.

Awesome! They're a lot of fun. I just bought the first volume of the new series. Looking forward to getting to that.

I looked for that Treasury book at Barnes & Noble today. Didn't find it but if I did, I would've gotten it.

Last I checked it was still backordered on Amazon. I bought mine from a third party. Just gotta keep an eye on it till one at a good price pops up.
