Hello my fellow Pixlebitters.  It's been a few weeks since I last posted. I've been pretty busy at work and at play!  Since my last post I've played and beaten MGS 3  two and one half times. Why one half?  I started a game and got half way through it and then decided to start all over, hence the half time.

I first played MGS3 on Very Easy and I was going for the last three trophies I need to Platinum the game.   I did not get but one.  I watched all the secret cutscene Easter eggs. That's where during certain cutscenes you will see a little Easter Egg.  I missed getting all the Kerotans and I missed getting all the plants and animals.

Since I was trying to get all the Kerotans and plants and animals I took my sweet time and it took me

9 hours 34 minutes and 37 seconds.

You can see Plants and animals captured 39 kinds.  If Im not mistaken there are 44 plants and animals. So I missed it by 5.

Sadly this save does not carry over to a higher difficluty, so I really wanted to play and beat the game on Normal. I wanted to earn and unlock everything on normal so when I replay it I would have more fun because its a tad bit more challenging.

I started the next game on Normal but I was playing the Japanese version and at half way through the game I decided I wanted to play the American version. So I started all over with the US version.

This time I was not trying for any trophies. I just wanted to get through the game and unlock a few special items that would make my next play through a little easier to get the trophies.

So I played on Normal and beat it in

6 Hours 12 minutes and 58 seconds.

I unlocked the Face paint I wanted that gives you

Infinite Ammo

.

That will help in my quest for all the plants and animals. Because some of the birds you have to capture I use the Stun Grenade to capture them. Sometimes it takes a lot of grenades to do this because I just throw them in the bushes and grass and hope I stun one that I need.

And here is an animal I caught by mistake while using a stun grenade in a Boss Battle.

Liquid Snake

Now I plan on taking a break from YOTS so I do not finish too soon and I do not get burned out.

I made a few new purchases that I am playing.

SSX and Medal of Honor Warfighter

Both are good games despite having read bad reviews for them. I am enjoying them both.

Now, I'm back to the console to hit a few slopes and knock off a few bad guys.

I'll see you on the Far Side.

That's it.  I'm playing MGS4 this year.  I'll start it right after I finish Ni No Kuni and the Mass Effect Trilogy. Laughing

James:  are you sure you're going to play it this year? I started to believe you until I saw ME trilogy on your play list...hahahahaha

LOL!  GH, it's been too long.  I got my copy of MGS4 on day one and it's still unopened.  If all goes well, after I play through ME1, ME2, ME3 on my PS3, I'll start MGS4.  I may need your help to hold me to it. Laughing

James:  when you play and finish MGS4 I will buy a ME game and play it....maybe not right away but I will put it on my backlog list.Laughing

That poor snake...just waiting to be eaten. Delicous!

GrayHaired

Ben:  but that isnt even the rare one. There's one you have to catch with a mouse trap and if you do not eat it and keep it alive until the end of the game, you get the infinity face paint...which is how I got that camo!

Liquid snake... wouldn't you drink that rather than eat that?

I think you have to be the biggest Metal Gear fan on the planet. You deserve to get to meet Hideo Kojima in person and tell him you're his number 1 fan.

Andrew:  Hahahaha, yeah, Liquid should be drank not eaten!  I would much rather meet David hayter!

I loved the SSX games last gen. SSX Tricky was my favorite. My brothers and I played that for hours and if I pulled it out now I bet could lose myself in it all over again. Great game. I don't remember hearing whether that one was good or not but I guess you're enjoying it Smile

Daftman:  So far Im enjoying SSX. Im not too deep into the game but I mainly just race down the hill, Im not too good at pulling tricks.

What are the courses like in SSX? In Tricky all the courses were distinct stages but in SSX3 it was all one interconnected mountain, which was a cool idea, but I preferred the stages. The mountain just didn't have much personality Undecided

Im not sure how to explain them. right now Im on one Mtn in the Rockies and it has different tracks? but they are all on the one Mtn. There are more Mountains I just havent gotten to them yet.

Hmm, kind of sounds like a combination of the two. Interesting...

I wonder if SSX and Medal of Honor got bad reviews for being too similar to their former titles; if so, I'd probably still enjoy them.

I missed out on MGS 3. Some day... lol.

Joe:  Reviewers said MOH was too linear and nothing new. That's okay with me though. And I read SSX had a few bugs in some of the race modes?  I havent found them yet.

MGS3 is an awesome game that needs to be played at least 5 times to really get the full enjoyment out of it.  I've done played it at least 20 times that I know of.

6 hours for MGS3? I always saw that as a 20+ hour game. Might be a good way to spend a day off...

Halo:  If I had not been trying to find all the plants and animals I probably could've made it in under 5 hours. I did skip the Boss Battle with the End. that in itself is an hour!  If you were to find all the plants and animals, fight the End, get all the camo, and shoot all the keratons, it might take a good 15 hours?  on very easy.

Did that white snake yell "BROTHER" when you captured it?

Jonathon:  Brother...it's been too long!      hahahahahahah

I've never beaten MGS3, but I have full intentions of doing so. I beat the first 2 MGS games, and I started the third but I just never finished it. I downloaded the HD collection whenever XBL had the big Spring Sale last month, so it's been added to my backlog which I'm currently working through right now!

Props to you my friend for trying to get that Platinum. That looks like a lot of work but at least you're five away from that trophy. Nice pickups, but I couldn't get into that version of SSX. Enjoyed the series, but that one just didn't click for me, glad that you're enjoying both games.

Chris:  after having only Shaun White to satisfy my snowboard cravings...SSX is a treat!
