Games Beaten

I didn't beat any games in October, which was a combination of being busy and the new game I started (more on that later), but I did finally earn the Platinum trophy on God Eater 3! So I'm moving on from that game. The friends I'm playing with want to play Dragon's Crown, which my wife and I played through in 2014 on a rental but we did the bare minimum, so I don't mind returning to it. We just haven't started it yet lol.

Games Bought

I picked up Dragon's Crown Pro (PS4) because I don't have the PS3 version anymore. It's basically the same game but with a higher resolution and a redone soundtrack recorded by a live orchestra. Otherwise I simply grabbed the two PS+ games: Vampyr (PS4) and Need for Speed: Payback (PS4).

Games Being Played

-Octopath Traveler (Switch)

Octopath Traveler--Tressa

I started with Tressa, the merchant. I love the art in this game.

I love this game. It is total comfort food gaming for me, which seems to be just what I need right now. The pixel graphics are delightful and the sountrack is good! The battle are quick and engaging. I'm only a dozen hours in, so maybe I'll grow tired of it or it will get too hard (though I beat Shin Megami Tensei IV, so I'm pretty sure I can power through whatever this game throws at me). I'll probably be playing this into next year but at the moment I'm really enjoying it.

-Destiny 2 (PS4)

One week from the next big expansion!

Comfort food does sound amazing right now.

It took me over three months to get through 30 hours of Astral Chain, a game I actively enjoyed, but I'm nearly 20 hours into Octopath Traveler already O_O

Octopath Traveller started to drag for me after I found all the characters.  It got too grindy.

Dragon's Crown is great.  I always played as the Amazon.

I played the warrior in Dragon's Crown before, so I want to try one of the magic users.

I really want to play Octopath, but every time it drops down to $40, I put it off. I played the demo and really loved it. I guess I'm hoping it's going to drop more in price, but I should just buy it.

It's an RPG. I've done that same put-off-for-a-better-sale thing with other RPGs...and I still don't own those lol. Best just pull the trigger!

OT does get really hard, but I think the characters, story, battle system, and music all make it a fantastic JRPG. I wish I could've beaten it, but it got brutal for me. Maybe you will be able to finish it (some day).

The battle system—with the weaknesses and breaks and elements and all that—has kept battles engaging for me. And goodness gracious, I love the soundtrack so much!

I was playing Dragon's Crown Pro earlier this year. I really love it.

I wish I could play Octopath Traveler, but only on Switch and PC.

If only all games could be as pretty as Dragon's Crown!

I am definitely intrigued, by the way, by Vanillaware's new, 13 Sentinels. Sounds really cool.

Whoa! Interesting. Going on my wish list for sure.
