Plump Pop

Released: 1987

Pitch: Use a trampoline to bounce a baby animal into balloons.

As opposed to Plotting yesterday, Plump Pop is pretty easy to describe. It's basically a cross between that trampoline Game & Watch game and Breakout. Its presentation is very cute but the gameplay is very low rent. There are boss battles, which is cool, but you're just trying to bump into a large balloon repeatedly, and the usual frustrations with aiming in this sort of game apply to this one too. It's alright but nothing special.

What's with the trampoline games back in the 80s? I guess it a good excuse for a game mechanic.

Hmmm. I think I'll skip this one. Laughing

I never saw this in arcades, but I certainly do remember it on the Taito collection.  I'm a sucker for cute Breakout style games.

Looks like a Super Mario 64 DS extra mini game. At least, your description sounds just like it.

Reminds me of an old arcade game called Circus, which was also on the 2600. Instead of the trampoline you had two clowns alternating on a seesaw to pop balloons.
