Rick, your Mask looks Terror-able...

Call of the Mask

From: Splatterhouse 3

Remixed by: Beckett007

In celebration of this month of scariness, OCR Spotlight will feature fittingly creepy remixes. Kicking things off is a great cinematic piece from Splatterhouse 3 on the Genesis. It starts with an ominous low synth noise followed by staccato strings rising and falling in volume. Things stay pretty dark throughout, with some great low brass and even some female vocals. It's a very atmospheric piece, not one you'll find yourself humming, but it sets the Halloween-ish mood very well. So grab your hockey mask and bolt your door (not that it will do you any good, muahahaha). It's OCTOBER!

Wow this is great background music as I look at all the Google Images of Splatterhouse 3. I need to go play this series.

I've never played any of them either but I'd like to. Well, not the remake lol

The old Genesis graphics look really cool. I do want to play the remake as well.

Quite somber. For some reason I counldn't stop thinking that this would fit Doctor Who.

Hmm, well, I suppose there are a few times where this would fit (I've only seen the new series, remember). It would have to be a pretty dire situation.

I actually thought of the modern incarnations, since I hadn't seen yet the older ones.

yes! Yes! Yesh! this is perfect! A fitting beginning to this octoberween. makes me wish we could see an HD re-release of the three games of the series on XBLA/PSN. I already own the first game off the PC engine via Virtual console.

A good start indeed...*sinister laugh*

*looks about nervously* Yes, good, glad you like it so much. And nice, um, sinister laugh there...
