Just a Request

So we got these two consoles coming out within two weeks apart. And all I want to do is ask, can we not compare how X multiplatform game compares between the PS4 and Xbox One? I mean, it's got to the point where you can barely tell it as is and a high end PC will look better than both of them anyway. It's just not going to prompt any discussion, so while the rest of the internet goes on tangents about it, can we just keep the comparisons between current and next gen differences if we do have them so we can focus on the games themselves?

Also fuck Beyond: Two Souls The Ellen Page Variety Hour featuring Willem Dafoe. I may go on a rant like I did with Assassin's Creed 3, though it would be shorter because it's not AC3. But if you want a simple reason why

Emo Ellen Page. Yeah, fuck you Quantic Dream.

Please do. I want to hear a good rant on something. Beyond Two Souls seems like a good one to rant about because I'm sure it's going to be the critic's darling, and I'll hear tons of "it's an experience you don't want to miss" on some of the podcasts I listen to (I'm talking to you Official Playstation Blogcast!).

You can't stop the comparison debate.  Sometimes they are useful.  Some games are better on one console than the other.  I'm not talking just graphically either.  I plan to get all the major consoles down the road (after big price drops) and if I'm going to pay money on a multiplatform game, I'd rather spend my money on the best version.  I know some of it is fanboy bullshit, but many times there are legit reasons to choose one console version over the other.

I predict we'll hear console-gen comparison debates for the first 3-6 months and then maybe it'll die over or be restricted to cross platform titles. I won't care until I actually purchase a next-gen console but I listen to a handful of game-related podcasts and I know that'll be the topic of discussion that can be unavoidable.

The games that I really care about are the exclusives anyways.  So any comment that I might have on the multi-platform games is just me being an idiot.

I'm actually okay with console debates as long as it doesn't turn into a fanboy fight. Its interesting to read people's thoughts on their consoles, and for the few folks who pick up both on their respective launch dates I'd like to read their opinions.

I've got your back on the first part.  I'm not buying any of the new consoles for a while, so I don't really care how they stack up to each other at this point.  Otherwise I have the same stance as jgusw.

On the second point is where I let you down...  I liked Beyond Two Souls.  I liked it a lot.  Sorry man.

To late. Looks like the interwebs is already a twitter about the console comparisons with the new COD game with old and new tech.

Still want to see what all the fuss is about with Beyond: Two Souls. Just got done rewatching "Boondock Saints".
