This one is for all those bikini-clad women out there who also turn into spaceships

Naju Overture

From: The Guardian Legend

Remixed by: Russell Cox

The Guardian Legend was an odd little NES game that combined the white-knuckle action of a shoot-'em-up with the action adventure and exploration of The Legend of Zelda. It was a disparate match up but it worked. You'd fly through "Corridors"—the shmup stages—and then explore the new areas like in Zelda. The game also had a great soundtrack, and Russell Cox makes it shine as a cinematic orchestral piece. It's very energetic and adventurous and you can't help but think that something awesome is just around the next corner. Adventure!

The Guardian Legend was an awesome game.  Compile made some great shooters back then.

It's too bad they're not around anymore. They were certainly masters of their craft.

Well, Matt, um, I don't think, um, I don't think they give rides, so don't get your, uh, hopes up...

I watched this review of it. Looks neat. I've got a pile of NES games I should play sometime. It'd be fun to go find this at my retro game store.

I like that OC Remix you posted too.

My first thought was, "Is her hair purple?!" Then I started watching and found out it's Erika Szabo. Never seen her before but she's been on a couple of episodes of Nerds Without Pants that I've listened to. That was a good review Smile

No way. She's on Nerds? Man, I gotta make room in the podcast list for Nerds. There's just so much time the day.

Just every now and then. I think she was on the Final Fantasy episode (which was super long lol) and another that I'm spacing on now. Sounded like she was on there a time or two before I started listening as well.

I think I heard her too on one I downloaded a while ago to try it out. I subscribed again and listened to about a half hour of the recent podcast. I'm going to stick to it this time.

It's nice. too bad I've never seen the game to reference the music from. I need to look this game up now.

You should hunt it down. It's an often-overlooked little gem in the NES library.
