Egg-cellent Easter Reviews!

Those Mario eggs are really cool...but they have tootsie rolls inside? That's pretty disappointing, I think.

The new edition of the Disney Afternoon Collection is really tempting. I might need to get that.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Cary. I hope he makes a full recovery without lingering physical difficulties.

Knights of the Old Republic has been on my list to play for ages. I even have a physical copy of it but never got around to playing it. I've also always wanted to play Escape from Butcher Bay but I don't have that one.

My mind was blown the first time I saw FF Tactics. Moving around the battle map! Different terrain and elevation! And they affect combat!! Surprised So cool!!!

Unfortunately...I struggle being tactical lol

The remake has the original controls, dual stick, and motion controls that hail from the Prime Trilogy release on Wii.

I don't think I played any Army Men games on the GameCube but I have distinct memories of renting one for the N64. Sarge's Heroes?

You did go in hard on the GBA RPGs! I have a copy of Rebelstar that I got for cheap but I could never get it to work. Though maybe it is for the best. Tactics were never my strong suit.

First of all, how dare you imply that the original Metroid Prime control scheme had problems! The nerve! But also...yes, you can use typical FPS dual stick controls if that floats your boat (or gunship).

GameCube Top 25

Oh man, I've got such big warm fuzzy feelings for the GameCube!

Those Viewtiful Joe games were so good! There is also one for the DS that is pretty decent.

I played Eternal Darkness during the early years of the Wii and I'm really glad I did. Such an interesting game! I think I got it for $30 at GameStop but then lent it to my brother and went to college. He ended up moving to a different state and when I finally tried to get it back from him, I discovered he had sold all his GameCube stuff—including Eternal Darkness and my copy of MGS: The Twin Snakes—years before. Both of those are really expensive now and unlikely to ever see official rereleases...but I'm not bitter! No sir!

I'm glad you didn't get rid of the Metroid Prime games. I would have had strong words for you! But don't bother with MP2 if you haven't clicked with the first game. It's more difficult and unforgiving. I think there is a lot of enjoy about the second game but you need to be fully onboard with the series first.

PS2 Done?

I haven't played Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo myself but I know it's more like Puyo Puyo rather than Tetris Attack (which I have played a lot of). In Tetris Attack the blocks rise from the bottom of the screen and you move a cursor around to swap blocks horizontally. I love not being at the mercy of whatever drops from the top of the screen. I don't think there has been a new game like that since Planet Puzzle League on the DS. That game was clearly influenced by the presentation of Lumines and lacked any sort of personality of its own. But at least Pokémon Puzzle League is available on NSO (I think Tetris Attack is as well) and those are pretty endlessly replayable for me.

I love those Taito Legends collections. I was playing through them for Blog-a-Day and never did finish the second collection.
