Yeah, and we're moving next month. Nothing huge, just across town, but there's always extra expenses when moving.
Great write up! I never had an original Xbox and so never played Jade Empire but I've heard lots of good things. The world they built sounds like the most intriguing part, really, and it'd be cool if BioWare could make a more action-oriented RPG without having to piss off a segment of their fanbase to to do (Dragon Age 2). At the very least an HD port on XBLA and PSN would be a good way to gauge player interest.
I'm thinking of making friends with a walkthrough lol at least for the first area. The game doesn't tell you anything. Nick suggested I try Dark Souls first because it eases you into the experience better. I'd like to do that but I don't want to spend the money right now. Well, can't spend it more like
Demon's Souls doesn't tell you jack diddly squat. Maybe that's part of the appeal for some but man, I don't know what's going on, like you said. I don't know how the upgrade system works or about that weird item/armor burden thing or even how to change the equipped items (there are no options or buttons to change those!). I'm hesitant to buy Dark Souls right now because we're trying to save money for our move next month and I was playing Demon's Souls because it was free on PS+ (though I've wanted to try it for a long time). So I don't know. Maybe I just need to follow a detailed walkthrough for the first area so I'll have someone to tell to go back to the Nexus and talk to so-and-so to upgrade such-and-such and don't try the next part till you can afford whatever-it-is. But I wouldn't mind putting it off for the moment lol. When do you think you'll be starting?
It's overwhelming. I accidentally targeted the dragon at one point and thought, "You can fight that thing?!"
I've wanted to get Bayonetta for a long time and I've noticed that it's pretty cheap now, so maybe I'll get it sometime soon. And I've heard a lot of good things about Binary Domain recently from folks here on PixlBit, so I've been eyeing that recently too
My grandfather was an architect and lives in Cleveland, so one time when I was a kid we went to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame because he wanted to get a closer look at the architecture. The building is shaped like a giant phonograph. It's pretty crazy.
It's a different kind of hard, I think, than NES games. I feel much less in control of my fate than when I play Mega Man, for instance. I can see the appeal and there's definitely something to be said for the rush that the fear and tension give you, but right now I just want it to go die in a fire lol.
Oh my word, I had no idea that existed but it's perfect! Thanks for the heads up, Nick, I will be looking for this
I've never bothered much with high end computer gaming. Of course, I've always used a Mac so there isn't much to bother with lol. Glad you got your stuff all fixed though. Sounds like you definitely came out ahead.
