Let's see:
-I grew up in a time when Columbus was celebrated, we had Christmas/Valentine's and other parties in school, and heck being in California we even learned about the Missions. We learned later on how awful they were to Indians. Speaking of, I still use the term Indians.
-Lies My Teacher Taught Me is a good read. I don't think I really had a good/bad story of history until college. I had a little bit when for a project for class I learned that my great uncle and aunt broke a local law for getting into an interracial marriage in California.
-Years from now our history is going to be full of nothing but hashtags and selfies. Sorry future civilizations.
-I wish math classes in high school would teach basics like balacing a check book and keeping a budget. Learning that at 18-19 is like going from swimming into a kiddie pool to be dumped into the middle of the Pacific.
I saw in the comments that the podcast was about turning education into a game. In a way I see as that now. It's a choose your own adventure game where you make decisions that will affect you in the future.Do you do the right thing, get the positve energy and be in better shape to have the better equipment for the future, or do you mess around, not have the same tools, and when you get to the boss battle quickly regret your decisions. And of course during all of it you get scored.
